way more to the game than just raids, and again, I’m not going to be questing around while listening to dua lipa…I’m going to be listening to the game effects and the zone music…which is instrumental…
You cant control other people. You can however control your own feelings, and who you interact with.
Some of you are pure drama.
“This person didnt say hello to me in a dungeon, omg the toxicity!”
And people still mute the music in WoW lol. And I’m not usually listening to Dua Lipa either, I usually have metal in background because WoW music is boring as sin.
This is a “you think you do, but you don’t situation”.
What I mean by that is in WotlK Classic, you cannot solo anything. You either have to do Heroic+ or 10 man and you are thoroughly vetted and checked before you’re allowed into either.
What happens with this is, you basically have to play at certain times of the day and you can’t do anything outside your guild, if you even have one. Your life and schedule has to revolve around the game of World of Warcraft. You can barely even solo pug your way into a 10 man in WotlK, you have to have initial guild runs for the experience, it’s like trying to get an internship or something.
the ambience in the dragon isle zones have been phenomenal, audio team really outdid themselves… the music ties in nicely with it… IDK, for me personally, I grow a deeper appreciation for those who put the work in to build these virtual worlds when I “tune in” to it.
just standing by a creek in the waking shores with the ambience and music going…masterful.
No it’s not, it’s boring. It’s generic orchestral tunes that you can copy and paste into just about any generic fantasy setting.
I already play the game.
If I had to rate how good an mmorpg community is it would be;
GW2
ESO
FFXIV
WoW
in that order.
A part of the problem with WoW is the game fosters a competitive nature and that can bring out the worst in people and Blizzard doesn’t really do much to alleviate it.
I feel you, but if you went into raids or whatever, should you be belittled or kicked because you’re not as good as they expect? this is the essence of what i’m trying tyo get at
Yeah it’s really missing vocalization honestly. Pretty generic, maybe not boring, but definitely generic.
you are too kind.
fallout 76 would above wow, and you forgot about DCUO which would stil be above wow
Not gonna lie, I can’t not play Viper anymore lol. Got my Skill Speed up to 1500, and I no longer know what a cooldown is xD
Yup. Players on 76 will go out of their way to help new players. They will literally follow you around. Reminds me of vanilla back in 2004 when people would follow their friends around outside of a party, letting them tag all the mobs, then killing them for them. They nerfed that XP real quick.
A lot of players in this game have a chip on their shoulder for anyone who’s new.
It’s the shock of seeing actual people in a Fallout 76 server.
i have been kicked, numerous times actually…I have left guilds because of it too…because if I have to download addons to help me play the game like everyone else then how is that a good experience??? i have to download external aids to help me clear a raid?? and it’s not even an option more often than not for these guys, you don’t have it, you don’t raid.
god forbid i tell them I click skills…endless chastisement.
but that still doesn’t excuse the fact that FF14 suffers from the opposite end of the toxicity spectrum - toxic positivity…
it’s a shame for players like me that blizzard refuses to address the gameplay/encounter design issue centered around addons rather than building a game around its native environment… but it’s also a shame that players in FF14 have created this tight culture of fanboyism that ostracizes those with valid critique.
Lol you aren’t wrong.
Lmao. 14’s community is SO toxic. I honestly have a feeling you’ve never played it of you honestly think they have a good community.
At any point did you ask them or take note of your group to see if they wanted you to speed up or slow down?
Also, people don’t boot you for no reason like that. I’ve never once seen someone randomly initiate a kick without first having a conversation with the person that’s being kicked. I think there’s more to the story that you’re not telling us.
omg…thats the worst kind of toxic.
Flashbacks to a manager 30 years ago with that “there is no “I” in Team” crap.
Id always respond with "yeah? well my name as a couple “i"s in it” lol
There is no “I” in “Team”. But there is meat.
Its hard to explain… as obvious buy the comments above. but what drove me to start this post, is that player used to teach and encourage newer players and returning players. I have seen this as far up as the original Cata release, but i think the direction was lost a long time before that.
i watched as a guild imploded. not because of loot, not because of progress, but because of the people that just are in it for themselves.
the problem is, that i don’t think people attribute a toon to a person.
no one gives a rats ar$e who’s behind the keyboard or mouse or whatever
all any of you really care about is your next upgrade,
and none of you can see what this game was in terms of community.
In 2006, I was going to take my own life, and i had no one to turn to. so i reached out to the only community i felt connected to. thankfully it wasn’t filled with the people that populate it today. because If i did, I don’t think i would hear one voice reaching out to help. because all this community does is belittle and whine, pick apart arguments and or dig themselves into a hole. I havent quit playing cause I like the story, and I’,m piggybacking on Sabbia’s account. so its all free for me. damn, gonna have to find another patsy. not my fault they shared they account with me.
TL:DR you all are about as appealing as a dogs ballssack. i wish i had taken my life rather than deal with this community
