My issue with Wo is that is has become a solo game. Not that there’s to many casuals or that there is no community.
The issue i feel if how we treat everyone in the community.
I’ve barely (2-3 months at a time) taken a break from WoW, cause i love the game. but we as a whole could learn something from the community from FF14.
Here’s my proof (And this is subjective):
In WoW instance → Im tanking… i get kicked for not going fast enough. so next run I get kicked for going too fast, or dying cause the healer can’t keep up.
Not once in either of those scenarios, am i told to slow down, or speed up as applicable. nope JUST THE BIG OL BOOT.
today i went back to FF14.
Told them i was a little rusty, they were ok with that.
And what happened after my second run? I had 2 new people to add to my friends list.
and the groups I ran with would be what are LFR or RDG groups are in wow.
Yes i refuse to capitalize it now. I mean I’ll keep playing wow cause i enjoy the content, but to be honest. the player base disgusts me.
Ah, the old “the FF14 community is one big, happy MMO commune and the WoW community is toxic” chestnut.
Solo game? Last I checked I have to do M+ with others, PvP, Raid… Dang, I need to find an MMO.
Is it when you have proof? not that there isn’t toxic ppl in that community, but in experience, its less toxic. i mean when was the last time someone helped you without being asked to make you better at your class/role?
What happened last time when you said you hadn’t tanked for a while and just getting back in to current content?

In wow, you get kicked and told to practice and get “gud”
in FF14, they actually help, like it was back in the day in 2005 to 2007, when community meant something.

When was the last time you gave another player a tip to actually get better? did you suggest something, or just tell them to get gud?

players in wow have to apply to a guild, so they can gain prestige, and gear…
you know what? I’ll happily spend a year meeting random people and doing what i love. nothing is going to change that cause i have friends here too. BUT Requitus from Zeros to Heros from the stormrage server. Thank you for proving my point.

Questing has been here since the game was created. Thats solo…you know that, right? lol
This game is perfect as it is.
You can CHOOSE to solo…or you can CHOOSE to group…and you can have fun either way.
That is a problem in and of itself. Nothing to do with lots of solo content to do or not.
Ive had them report me for ‘cheating’ when i tanked because the joker thought I should be taking more damage.
There are some overly entitled, degenerate mindsets in this environment, just like everywhere else in life. Its part of grouping with others.
and so, back to this…
You have a minority of disgruntled, miserable people playing this game. Its just something you have to risk if you want to group. They arent going away any time soon.
ive seen them kick someone the second they admit this.
ive also seen a group be overly supportive and literally take over half hour to do a full clear on Blackrock depths when we didnt need to.
The tank player had been away from the game for a long while. Admits hes rusty.
And we all just had one of the best runs Ive ever experienced in this game.
And then the next run can have some little entitled child who ruins it for everyone else.
its a coin toss every time.
Reason #386 why I dont run group content all day long like I did in Legion.

Not every run is going to be perfect.
Guess what else we could learn from a community that isn’t this community,leave WoW already and go play FF if it suits you better.
You can either move on and know that’s going to happen now and then or just go back to where you think everyone is 100% behaved and kissing eachothers you know whats…But at the end of the day I highly doubt FF has less toxic players when it is a commonality in any games such as these.
