My brain is painful - runes

Thinking is hard too. Appears the only acceptable challenge in this game is raiding.

Yeah I tried to explain in game how to do it when people were complaining and they were constantly just saying it was too hard. It gave 5 freek’n pearls for a few minutes of thinking…

The only trick is to line up the colors so you get this pattern.

X
X
OX
X
X

or the opposite way.

Getting the two on the bottom is super easy. Getting the one on the side is slightly harder. Getting the two on the top is where all of your planning is going to take place. That is where luck can screw you over a bit, but still the entire thing is easy if you stop and think about it instead of just hoping to get lucky.

P.S. I definitely found it easier to do it vertical vs. horizontal.

P.S.S. Is anyone else having extra spaces stripped out all of the sudden?

Yes if you want to think your way through it, vertical is the way to go. But you don’t even have to do that much thinking, just keep a few in a row and play with the others.

Still think it should just be rewritten. I don’t think I was the only person that initially misinterpreted what the completion goal was.

How was it written that it was a problem - didn’t it say match 5 in a row ?

It does, but the way I had interpreted it at first was to get 5 matches as in, get 5 yellow rune matches in a row. Not Line up 5 Yellow Runes.

So I was trying to setup the board with a lot of yellow runes to match in pairs of 3 or 4. Then it was cascade and I’d be like, “oh snap does that mean I have to restart”? I did this for about 8 minutes until I took a step back, reread what it was requesting and thought, “Oh my god…is it asking me to line up 5 yellow runes?”

Absolute derp moment, but once I figured it out it took me 30 seconds to 2 minutes to complete.

I used to play this kind of game a lot so I knew what they meant.

I am just finding it hard to believe they are nerfing this quest because ppl were taking 20 minutes to complete and it took me an hour to complete one of the follower quests because the drop rates of the mobs were so low plus the respawn rates of them weren’t great either.

You guys change this lickety split…and not a peep on the jellies?
Puzzle was doable, just like people will say the jellies are doable.
But regardless it’s about time. You guys changed this immediately because it was hard or took to long…when people are having equal frustration with jellies…yet don’t see a fix/change on it.

They fixed the jellies too this morning I believe.

Ah…apologies then…I had not seen/read anything about it.

I don’t think there was anything officlal but a few people made threads/post about how it was easier to do this morning because you have control now.

I found that one pretty easy without hearing cues.
They all start out red, when you uncross them they turn purple.
THe only tricky part is realizing you need to click two to swap the position of any of them.
Once you do though, its easy.

I liked the candy crush one. The one that killed me was the dot shapes where half the dots where stuck inside a wall.

First of all, this is Bejewelled, not candy crush.

Your problem is that you were using your brain. Just keep eliminating anything that isn’t yellow until you see 2 yellows, a space, and 2 yellows, with a yellow above or below that space. Shouldn’t take more than 10min.

I liked all of the new mini games, Maybe Blizzard could have tried inventing something new? And TY Pitagriffin…it is Bejeweled I use to play it on POP cap games back in the day before it showed up on wally world shelves! I would have liked mini games that used your pets instead of mobile game app retreads.

I’ve played a fair amount of Bejewelled, and I suspect this puzzle will not prove very difficult for me. But if I wanted to play Bejewelled… I’d play the original game. WoW is an action-adventure RPG, and all these mini-games are completely out of place.

With the mini-games and the mission table, WoW feels increasingly (and disturbingly) like one of those terrible browser games. All we need is daily log-in rewards, auto-pathing, auto-combat, and a stack of scantily-clad women.

So go make your own MMO. Let me know when it comes out. In the meantime, I will do these fun little time-wasters and get my loot.

Yeah, I get ya, but really you do not have to complete the World Quest. I have no problem with having more than just kill this many X mobs or collect X amount of this or that. If you have issues with this, then you must have had the same issues with all the Kirin Tor WQ in Legion, as well as the turtle WQ in this expansion. Variety from the normal stuff is nice to have and not everyone is going to enjoy doing the various different quests. I at least give many of them a try and the ones I like I constantly repeat. I never played Candy Crush or anything like it. I literally had to ask my daughter what I was doing wrong or not seeing with my own eyes. I really like the Leyline quest, I have always been into figuring out those types of puzzles.

They’re not. Minigame Dailies have existed since BC.

But what do ANY of them have to do with World of Warcraft?!?! Some people will find them fun, some won’t - I get that. But that doesn’t change how out of place they are in this game, and how little they contribute to the plot, setting and ambience of the game.
