Op, what class do you play?
On average for every tank or healer rdf gives you access to it also adds 4+ dps. Ut it doesnt fix the issue like you think it does.
Everybody here has used RDF at some point. We all know how it works and we all know it works really well. That’s why we want it. Queues are never more than 10-15 minutes at worst.
We dont all want it, because some of us understand how it actually works, vs the delusional belief that it makes more tanks and healers.
It does more harm than good.
Last time I played retail (before classic started), I recall waiting up to 45 mins - 1 hour for a tank. Maybe 15-20 mins for a healer and then Qing as a tank was nearly instant - 2 mins.
System probably working.
Just not at many tanks Qing.
Also have to look at it like this…
As we all know, the tank role it probably the least played.
At the start, everyone is leveling, so even tanks need to do stuff. Even with that, lots of tanks heave friend / guild groups and are not Qing in general.
After a while, those that want / need tanks, were eventually leveled, thus no longer needing runs and they getting ready to raid.
Then with that, you have to rely on newcomers, later bloomers, and alts. And of those, probably even less will want to roll tanks.
After they add it, and before you quit, I’d like you to come to the forums and retract this statement.
In all fairness, that also means tanks and healers will gear up faster and will be done with heroics sooner. It’s not really “fixing” the problem as much as it’s taking tanks and healers from “then” and letting you access them “now”.
They nerfed the boxes tho
It’s a numbers game. More tanks will always = more tanks. Back in wrath it was pretty common for our guild to run multiple times to make sure we all got the daily in. Usually a rando or two got the benefit of our multiple runs.
All that said without Bliz coming right out and saying it, it’s pretty obvious the main reason there is no RDF is that Blizzard doesn’t want us gearing up too fast. There’s no money in that.
You’re not wrong BUT you will be in line for one with RDF and you don’t have to keep refreshing to be able to snag one either.
And with rdf it also means more dps at a greater number ratio than tanks gained.
Heavin forbid you befriend tanks you pugged with before to not have this issue. Nope cant have social behavior.
…
Won’t happen unless they choose to go with cata (probably) and right before cata. I won’t be here by then.
Won’t need to since this fantasy event won’t happen. I won’t be playing if they announce cata and all the poo they add for that.
My fantasy is they fork the game right now and go a different direction.
We can all have fantasies.
You have to consider that the social behavior of the people who want anti-social tools precludes them from befriending people. You think of it as trivial but for a whole slew of these people, being decent or social is literally offensive. Building in-game community is the most toxic thing about this game.
What would be best, instead of hoping they learn social norms, would be for Blizzard to get Dragonflight in a good place with all the carebear features and wrath be left alone to be an excellent alternative.
Fantastic! Getting more players involved who wouldn’t normally play sounds like a good thing. Great point.
Should my friends just not play when I’m not online?
Doesn’t seem fair to them…
Roll a tank? Either that or keep facing the same issue.
Sorry!
Your mising the point that its not going to make wait times less. Its more dps waiting in line percentage wise than the tanks you gain.
More tanks + More DPS = More groups. Waits aside, what am I not getting? You’re describing a system where more people get inside relevant content.
Try communicating when you will be on and if they will be on as well you can do your dungeons together. The more friends you have the easier this becomes.
“mega servers are bad BTW” no shortage of tanks here.
