And his point is nobody knows how people feel about it. The forum isn’t a measure of anything, especially when people can sock puppet.
No.

No.
Then you clearly feel the majority of players, like your friend here, support multiboxing.
You see how this works. It’s one or the other. Not that you people aren’t delusional enough as is. The funny part here is, why even argue this? It’s okay to enjoy how you exploit the game and others for your enjoyment, but at the very least, understand those exploits aren’t appreciated.
Here’s my favorite thread on the matter.

Here is a nice quote from the thread.
Because they became a big issue with the introduction of 10-use nodes and tokens. Those allowed multiboxers to pay for their accounts with farming (damaging the economy for casual farmers). Before that, multiboxing was a limited issue (a handful players per region with 20-40 characters raiding Stormwind once a month isn’t an issue). For the past two expansions instead, you’d see packs of Russian druids flying from node to node and driving herb prices to the point of being unprofitable to farm solo.
That sums it up. If you want to stick your head in the sand and act like multiboxers are this loved community that has SO much to offer the game, then go right ahead.
I think this thread does a nice job as well…

You really are loved here!
wait you are using reddit ? the largest hive of scum and villany on the internet as ‘proof’.
Multiboxing is still not against the rules, using broadcast software is.
lol “some reddit dweebs don’t like multiboxing, therefore it’s objectively bad”
Both are an issue. I take time out of my day to kill multi boxers when I come across them and when I’m on RP shards I kill bots as well in war mode (yes, bots go in war mode on Rp realms due to 2% of the playerbase using war mode).
Proof? No. General sentiment? Yes.
Who here is arguing otherwise?
So read the main thread blizz posted. Either is fine.
the small number of loud nerds here are also not representative of the player base as a whole
likewise. the small number of apologists here are not representative of the entire player base.
You seriously think you’re loved. How quaint.
not sure who you think you’re addressing here. i’ve never multiboxed and have no interest in doing so.
you’re not a multiboxer apologist? strange.
apologist implies there is something to apologize for . Yes I apologize for all players that play within the rules of the game. I’ve dual boxed before (way back in TBC using broadcasting software) but was not for me but I will never apologize for supporting those that play the game differently than me. Just like I don’t PvP and don’t think that all PvP players should be banned, you (and I) don’t multibox but as it’s not against the rules we have no right to say those that do should be banned.
Good thing the rules were updated.
Well, you’re going to be excited to know that with ONE simple click, you can completely avoid PvP!
I never said anything about banning anyone. Please don’t suggest I did.
To that, just because something is within the confines of the rules, doesn’t mean it’s right. There has been MANY times in this games life that players were caught exploiting something that they were not even aware of was a bug. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
Multiboxing exploits the rules and mechanics of the game and it largely comes at the expense and at the detriment of other players. That is how they get their fun.
I stopped reporting when I realized bots were still there and what I got was a default mail.
Two things can be simultaneously problematic.
multiboxing was an issue, botting is another. They are not mutually exclusive.
Fixed that for you.
What is the issue with multiboxing ? why the hatred for it that is expressed in these threads (which have been posted for 15+ yrs) ?
Multiboxing was an issue because it was mistaken for bots which ruined the economy. They are mutually exclusive.
With the same amount of effort a player could get multiple times the reward, removing the players that didn’t do that from the market.
it’s a simple case of “anybody who doesn’t play the way i think they should is a filthy cheater”
I disagree. I think multiboxers unfortunately get a lot of flack from players who confuse them for botters, but multiboxing still creates a huge advantage in the gold farming economy.
