So whatâs the problem with boxing free servers again? You could still box on any server just a select few that would only allow 1 player per character. Why the need invade and force your playstyle on those who dont like it?

Are you going to provide the ROI analysis to Blizzard demonstrating theyâll get the return on the investment of coding time to enforce some mac-address based policing and separate server costs to make this happen for you?
You canât take the easy way out and screen based on IP since many households have multiple players, like my wife and I, that present only a single IP address to Blizzard.

You still havenât presented one thatâs informed by actual experience that shows why being able to multibox is a massive advantage that you couldnât also have, if you chose to.
Like I said, try it. Set up a trial account. See whatâs actually involved in navigating around and playing two or more accounts at a time. You really canât do anything âten times fasterâ. Itâs clunky. Itâs taxing. You still have to manually pick every node in every single window. Some people who have been doing it for a long time, or are especially skilled, get efficient enough at it that theyâve got maybeâŚlike a 1.5x advantage to gathering? Over one person who can just zip around from node to node without all the hassle of herding all the alts.
And that is Blizzardâs official stance - itâs a playstyle. You need to be skilled at it to get anything âextraâ out of it, and if youâre going to be against skilled people getting better things that kind of pitches Mythic raiding and PVP right out the window.
But, you know, if this is your âthingâ, the one thing that gets under your skin, the one issue that youâve latched on to, go off. Like with manually picking nodes, I havenât got the time or energy to engage in a purely rhetorical exercise because you want to âwin at logicâ at people on the internet.

Sorry to tell you this, but multi boxing is legal, and people can and will do it. In fact, I applaud them for it. Heck, at times, Iâve had a multi boxer help me complete difficult tasks. If theyâre willing to invest the additional time and money into resources and compute power necessary to run multiple accounts at once, more power to them.
In fact, one of my former managers here at work multi boxes. Itâs actually pretty fun controlling multiple toons at once.
