9 days later. In those 9 days you could of at least got to level 11. Or did some big meanie multi boxer prevent you from gaining one level😂
That’s a personal problem. Not everyone can enjoy every hobby that everyone else enjoys because they cannot afford it. Welcome to life.
Thats not a personal problem, it’s a term of service problem. Right now TOS allows people to do it, if tomorrow blizzard change their TOS to prevent multiboxing they can.
Blizzard decides the rules, just because its not against the rules doesn’t mean its unfair.
Imagine a boxing match where 1 of the opponent has 3 arms, I dont know the rules but I assume there is no rule regulating having more than 2 arms. But lets say there isnt. Then there is this guy with 3 arms decimating everyone, then the boxing federation is like well having 3 arms is fine. Its clearly unfair even tho there is no rules against it.
It’s unfair that I can’t be in the olympics even though I do a 10.5 100m. It’s unfair that fat people get to park closer because they get a special spot. It’s unfair that people have guilds and raid teams and get to raid, but I’m a no BS [Censored for the forums] and get to play solo.
Life isn’t fair.
PS. My second account, when I had it active, was played with no duplication hardware/software help. It was on a second PC. Gogo multibutton mouses in each hand! You could not tell that there wasn’t two players. SL may actually get my acct2 running again. Chromietime+raf+pockettank/pockethealer=ALLTHEALLIEDRACES!
Well that’s how he was born It’d be unfair if he got a third cybernetic arm that could like move cars lol
Yeah but again , that’s why some people are asking for the rule to change.
You might disagree with those wanting multibox being removed from the game, but these people think its unfair, and its up to blizzard to decide, and currently they allow it and I think its very unlikely that they will change the rule, that doesnt mean that its fair, sports, games are interesting because they are fair but not fair no one would watch an olympic sprint with an handicap accounting for running speed.
And it doesn’t mean that it’s unfair
no I define fairness by individual thoughput.
Game score = Timespent * Effectiveness.
regular human effectiveness is between 0 and 1.
but multiboxing allows you do go beyond what people are usually able to reach by replicating yourself.
Now those who chose not to multibox because they dont want to, dont have the money, etc etc. some of them wont care, some of them care. But those who dont play the game and they agreed to the TOS which allow multiboxing so thats on them.
So this is how you define fairness? Linear time spent measurements?
You have advantage for sure! I’d have to up my game if I wanted to compete specifically in some MB vs MB action.
Probably the route I’d take if I couldn’t outthink your team.
pffft, I tell you what Guedaille. Whenever I multibox all day then get on a single character it feels like a weight has been lifted lol. Multiboxing requires more individual (as in the player) throughput than just playing one character
Someone is going to see this and read it the wrong way.
A multiboxer isn’t capable of getting anything that any other player can’t get but they are capable of getting things in a shorter amount of time. I word it this way because your wording allows for the “you can do that with multiple characters on a single account” argument.
Though my wording still allows for that argument
Yeah I can guess that multiboxing is not always fun, Ive never tried so my perception would be damn, what does he do when 1 of his dudes die etc.
By that logic addons are unfair, friends are unfair, maps are unfair, the AH is unfair…
Addons let you keep track of an exponential amount of information that “regular human effectiveness” couldn’t. My first entry into raiding was running a stopwatch on voice comms. “Stack in 3, 2, 1, STACK! We’re clear; Next stack in 45!”
Friends are unfair because they can help you get better gear in content you’re not ready for, they can help you get through that quest, they can give access to professions you don’t have, they can give backup when you get ganked.
Maps/guides are unfair because they show you where things are and regular humans can’t remember all that.
The AH is unfair because it gives you access to things that other people got but you didn’t. You should only have access to the things you get when you’re online.
I could play two characters, in the content that I wanted to play, on two PCs using two multibutton mice… that’s my individual throughput. Is it unfair that I can use both hands?
Is it unfair that I sim? Is it unfair that I theorycraft? Is it fair that I test bosses using time to die/DOPE? Is it fair that I use other peoples simming/theorycrafting/tactics?
Fair is inherently biased and based on nothing but perspective. A person can find anything fair or unfair if they so choose. All that matters is permitted or not. Regardless of opinion, if it’s allowed it’s fair according to the makers of the rules. If you or I choose to not use everything available to us, that does not make it unfair, it makes it our choice.
(I don’t have a horse in the race, I’ve been out of the game for a while and recently came back, my alt accounts were for raf rewards/running my main account alts through content… and just like to argue lol)
I don’t pvp box so if someone attacks me (I level in WarMode) I usually just give up and sit there and let them kill all my characters. If in pve something kills me and I can’t rez with one of my characters I just switch to the dead character and run him back
You are right but no one is calling for removal of addons or guilds, even tho they offer clear advantage over single play.
There is no difference between that or multibox in that sense that they both offer advantage, now the question is should blizzard allow people to have those advantage.
This is clear that blizzard allows guilds and friends because they are part of the game.
Multibox is allowed but it’s not part of the base framework of the game.
But you are right in a sense everything is unfair. But based on the rules it’s fair.
Neither are addons*/discord/icyveins/wowhead/twitch/youtube/RIO/logs/these very forums… but how many people use them and are considered fair by speculation here a majority of the players?
*addon use is part of the base framework, but the addons themselves are not.
The question is where does the advantage race stop?
If you have a 96 core 40tb ram super awesome PC with a 500GB connection and I have a potatochip on dialup. The game allows you to play on that PC, but that PC gives you an advantage; should your PC performance be throttled to my level?
You have 20 hours a day to play, I have 2, so you have an advantage. The game allows us to play as much or as little as we like. Do we all need limited playtime per week so nobody has an advantage?
You’re putting a group together so you check logs/scores. Someone without a score or with only blue parses is at a disadvantage. Should logs/rio be removed and all that counts is what’s on your character screen? Wait, that’s on the forums, not in game. All that can be used is your achievement tab and item level (which was by default hidden and accessed through addons until blizz borged it into the collective).
or is everything fair?
If blizz put multi-client support into the base ui would that now make it fair as it’s capable of being done within the default game?
Blizzard has no respect for this game, if they did they would have banned multiboxers a decade ago.
My personal take is if a person cannot physically control 5 systems etc without the aid of assistance, all at once with their two hands, it’s cheating. Unless you’re a mutant, sentient octopus that can control many PC’s at once , you’re playing beyond your physical means using automation that isn’t part of the actual game and outside the confines of how the game plays.
most games are already throttled, they wait until everyone to start the arena match or the league of legend match, otherwise the meta would be to get a fast pc. But that is the rule and I dont see how any new “technology” could come and disturb that ruleset.
Wow is not really competitive anyway and most of the time you are throlled by mob respawns and droprates so it doesn’t matter that much.
Well that would likely become the meta and now they would balance the game around it, therefor anyone who doesn’t play by the meta will be at disadvantage. And probably the game would be unplayable for those folks.
Seems like a simple concept…the rules maker makes the rules and defines what ‘cheating’ is in their own game.
The abject entitlement of telling the game maker what cheating is…lol
If you feel that way then why on earth would you keep giving your time, energy, and money to a game each month that those kind of developers develop?
got to agree with yesuna on this one. I dislike some aspects to this game, but ten years of it? If I had a problem with something that consumed me this much for TEN years, I think Id personally have the willpower to put it down and go do something else.
