You got a quote directly from Blizzard say the reason they allow Multiboxing is the money it brings in?

Someone did the math, and Mutliboxing brings in way less that the botters do, and Blizzard bans the hell out of those guys.

Multiboxing does not involve automation. That’s why it’s not against the rules. Someone needs to re-read the EULA.

It’s multiboxing. That’s just the bare bones version of it.

if they did automate multiboxing it would take one hell of a computer to do so I don’t think people have that type of money to afford one.

A streamer successfully got someone banned by calling in a favor to a Blizzard employee fan of his. Abuse does indeed happen.

They didn’t. People claimed it. Blizzard refuted it. Players still believe it because Blizzard=bad/lazy/greedy.

And all the banwaves that happen dispute that argument that Blizzard allows multi-boxing because of the money.

Money is a poor excuse used by lazy people because other players like to play in a way that is different.

Not to mention the lone Horde player in Classic trying to turn in stuff for the AQ event who got mass reported by the Alliance and instantly banned. These events literally just happened within the last two months, and people are trying to dismiss that this doesn’t happen.

And that also proves that it wasn’t an automated ban as the OP had originally stated. And yes, I can only imagine what action was taken internally with that GM for doing what they did!

Not really, the software used has a small footprint, what taxes the computer is the multiple clients that are launched. Some of the boxers I know use 2 or three mid-ranged machines to multibox, and use a KBM switch to control them all. Not as expensive as it was back in the early 2000

Care to explain about the Horde player on Classic attempting to do the AQ event when the Alliance mass reported him, resulting in a ban on his account?

Corrupt GM? If that is what you are talking about. But seeing how you don’t know the details, as Blizzard usually doesn’t give them out to the public.

I already did? They put in tickets and a GM made a bad call based on false reports. Again, those players who put in the false reports got in trouble instead! They player they had incorrectly banned got their account action reversed.

They believe that pointing out that it’s about the money will cause Blizzard to say something like “Golly gee, you got us, guess we’ll have to ban multiboxing now”.

But they are controled by one person and not run by it’s self as automation. program multiple toons to go from A to b without a person in control is automation of a program, the two are different .

It may have been resolved fairly quickly, but you can’t tell me that my account won’t get banned if a large group of griefers decide to mass report me. I shouldn’t have to go through the trouble of getting my account unbanned for playing the game and following implemented rules. And the people who can most easily do this are multiboxers.

no, i’m an adult that has a job and understands that all companies have the same motivation. It’s obviously always about the money. I mean, they are a company… that’s what they do. Nothing wrong with that. Do you think them providing us with tokens was out of the goodness of their hearts? Of course not, it was to remove the middle man that was taking away profits.

Do you realize wow has been making as much money now as it was in wrath when the game was at its peak? ALL the major mass bans they have done over the years, even cheating, have had one thing in common, money… Everything from the recent gallywix bans to the bots in classic. It’s money.

So multiboxxers are tolerated DESPITE the massive amount of players who hate them and voice their opinions.

Do you even consider what you’re saying before type it? of course they are going to ban the botters because they are in direct conflict with how blizzard makes money. the people that bot are PAYING money to have that ability. it’s not like they are going out their for free and just getting a bot.

Get in the way of blizzard’s profits and you are going to get banned.

It’s like arguing with children. money is a poor excuse? The game exists to make them money. Arguing otherwise just says how little you know about how the world works.

Because you are NOT gonna get banned. THERE IS NO PLAYER CONTROLLED AUTO BANNING OF ACCOUNTS.
