There’s no reason not to reward people for bosses they kill if you kick them afterwards to be a bad actor.
Because right now at most you could hold a single boss hostage, if all loot was moved to the final boss there is now the chance to hold an entire instance of loot hostage. And it’s not even limited to just that, they could kick people to increase their chances at drops, invite friends who need an item or would be willing to trade items to them.
The fear is this will make this type of behavior not only more common but because there is no real restrictions on “kicking” and it’s not against the rules there is no downside to doing it.
Removing someone doesn’t increase the amount of loot drops for the remaining players. Also, you can’t invite anyone to a LFD group, what are you even on about?
You can’t invite to a LFD instance? Sorry I never run them as I do them with guildmates/friends. Guess that solves most of my concerns
I thought the queued part was only in place to form the group.
Even when I’ve grouped up with people to spam dungeons (heroics for example), we still queued using the LFD tool as a full group, as that’s always gotten around the heroic dungeon lock of 1 per day. I’ve never been in a guild where people grouped up for a normal/heroic, all flew to the instance, and ran it like a M+.
Remove the bosses altogether. You have to redecorate the rooms instead. But it has to be done with the blood of the trash mobs you collected.
Yes, but you had a chance at loot on every boss you killed up to that point. Perhaps those weren’t the items you cared about, but at least you left with a chance at something. If the loot moves to the end, you are guaranteed to leave with nothing in that scenario. So that abusive practice has stiffer consequences for the innocent players now.
To make sure it’s clear, I am not advocating for changes. As annoying as it is to have people leave queued dungeons early, I think that’s a better environment than what we’d have if the proposed idea is implemented. I’m trying to highlight why I oppose the suggestion as a solution to the problem.
Neither am I, I actually prefer the way it was last week (leave when you want, as long as first boss is dead, no debuff). My issue is the longer debuff they said they were going to put in (did they actually end up doing it, I already got my trinket, so no reason to test it), is a 2 week problem. As soon as M0 and M+ release the issue goes away, and the “fix” only serves to punish innocent people.
We’ve done it this tier since you can do things cross faction but you can’t queue cross faction.
The fact this isn’t fixed is silly. If they want to prevent the people who are offended by grouping with the opposite faction, just add the check box (don’t group with opposite faction). Of course knowing Blizzard, that will take years to implement.
For you maybe, and for my main. But it certainly does not go away for me and many others who either have alts or only run lower-level content. There is a ton more players who don’t do M+ then there is who do.
So walk into the dungeon instead of using LFG, your problem is now solved.
Absolutely not. Zoomers with 5 minute attention spans have already ruined the end game with m+, you can’t have normal dungeons as well. Putting all the loot on the last boss is absolutely terrible and ruins the dungeon experience.
Yes it does, as soon as M0/M+ release no one will be running normal/heroic for the trinket. They will be doing Mythic for the better version of it. It truly is a 2 week issue at the start of an expansion.
You would be surprised. I found a dude a few days ago stating how “Normal dungeons are designed to stand in the fire”, dude had no achievements or anything on his profile for M+ or normal raids.
Which would just make queue times longer.
I think moving loot rolls to the last boss may be a good thing to prevent people from leaving early. I just think it will feel bad when you kill a boss nothing happens, so something should still be awarded after killing a boss, even if it is gold. I would prefer that dungeon bosses award a type of currency that could be turned in for another (higher) chance at getting gear.
Not sure if this has been said but, what about vote tokens? After 8 hours or so, you begin your play session with 3 vote to kick to tokens. You regain a vote to kick token after three hours. If you use up all your vote to kick tokens, you are no longer eligible to well… vote kick someone out of the group. Whether you initiate the vote or not.
Some of you would be very surprised what other players do in this game. Many of you live in a bubble assuming no one is going to run lower-level content once the season starts, that’s so very untrue.
I have no idea. I legitimately cannot remember the last time I left a queued dungeon early absent a RL emergency that I wasn’t going to care about the debuff anyway.
Yeah, I think the change was purely political. Blizzard can point to the patch and say they did something, even if the something won’t really have much of an impact long term.
Not even remotely what I said, but thanks for not reading. What I said is that come the release of Mythic content, the people who are running to a specific boss for a chance at a trinket and leaving will no longer be queueing for normal / heroics. And thus this entire issue goes away. Sure people will still leave every once in a while, but it’s much more likely for a legitimate reason vs trying to get a BIS item (as the BIS items will be in Mythics/Raids).
It happens to me, I work from home, and if a call comes in that is going to take more than a minute, I will drop (as I’m 99% chance the tank). The odds of this call taking 30 minutes is near zero. So yeah it will punish me when I’m leveling alts via dungeon spam. Luckily the debuff is per character, so I can just swap to another character, but it’s annoying and completely unnecessary. Same if you’re stuck in a dungeon with toxic / terrible players. You want to leave, enjoy your massive punishment. And not everyone has an army of alts they can swap to.
OK let me spell it out to you.
I know guilds, not just some players, but entire guilds who run only older content, that is when TWW released they started on their own journey through Dragonflight. They can play an older expansion for free, just a sub. They can play when all the bugs and balancing changes have been made, they can do so with no competition with rares and overworld content.
There are people who set goals that are not ‘BiS M10+ trinkets’, some people only run heroic or normal dungeons, some people only use LFG and are not part of a guild, some people WILL run a dungeon and leave, even when the season begins.
Just because a season starts does not mean 100% of all players in this game will shout “OMG TIME TO RUN M+ AND ONLY M+”, no, there are many, many more players who still run older content or lower-level content then there are players who run current season stuff.
