And that’s fine, and completely irrelevant to what I was saying. So I’m not sure what you’re trying to get across with your wall of text. Let me summarize it for you.
Normal / Heroic dungeons used to be that if you left before the first boss, you got a 30 minute time out. If you left after the first boss was dead, no time out. So in the worst of worst groups, you could leave after the first boss and move on with your life.
New expansion launches with a much longer delay between launch and start of season 1 (Mythic Dungeons / Raids). Players discovered that a trinket was BiS for a lot of classes, and that they could farm it by queueing for it, killing that boss, and than leaving, and repeat. And since a boss was dead, NO PENALTY.
Blizzard after seeing the massive number of complaints about people leaving, said let’s change it so if you leave at all during a dungeon, 30 minute time out. Now I’m not sure if they actually did it or not, it was threatened.
The issue is this trinket will only be BiS until the season starts. As soon as the season starts, people will no longer be running Normals or Heroics for this reason. So the number of people leaving early will be much lower.
Now despite this only being an issue until the Season begins, the fix Blizzard threatened will be permanent, and now anyone leaving a dungeon for any reason (even LEGITIMATE) will be given a 30 minute time out.
So to summarize, an issue Blizzard created (why put trinkets on anything but the last boss, same with weapons), the players found a work around. Other players didn’t like this and complained, so Blizzard instead of fixing the actual issue (why is this item not on the last boss, or why doesn’t all loot drop at the end), decided that the easier fix was to punish players for leaving period. And despite this, people will still leave.
Blizzard gets to look like they solved something, and in reality all they did was punish people like you Akapally who only run normal / heroic dungeons as your end game content. God forbid you ever have to leave a dungeon for a legitimate reason now, because you will get your 30 minute time out even if you only needed to leave for 10 minutes.
And that’s fine, and completely irrelevant to what I was saying. So I’m not sure what you’re trying to get across with your wall of text. Let me summarize it for you.
This is wrong.
There are people who don’t do M+, there are people out there who only do lower-level content and there are people who still see their own BiS coming from heroic dungeons. Just face the facts, there are so many more players out there who don’t run M+ and still want to gear up in lower-level content.
Just because you live in a bubble and assume no one is going to run heroic dungeons, does not mean no one is going to do it. There is still a need to change how things are even for content you don’t run.
Yeah they probably should, since people just dip out after the first boss in half the dungeons.
In the past, such as in vanilla, this would be punished by the community because you were always playing with the same group of people. When it’s anonymous cross-realm grouping there’s no punishment for being selfish and it creates a negative incentive structure.
You have data to back up these facts? Otherwise they’re just theories. I don’t for one second believe that the majority of the player base is running normal/heroics as their end game, and on top of that, doing so looking to fully optimize their characters with the BiS items from normal/heroic dungeons (the people you’re talking about are typically casual players, they don’t even buy enchants, spec correctly, let alone worry about BiS).
It would be great if the move the loot to end or upon completion of the dungeon.
This will stop the tank from leaving after the first boss because they didn’t get the trinket (or whatever) they wanted. Had 3 Heroic Dungeons in a row where the tank left immediately after the first boss.
Make the selfish scumbags finish for the rewards or get nothing. Maybe some of the scumbags will stop playing all together.
I would love loot to be moved to the end of a dungeon for another reason: sometimes the one mob that you can loot is on the other side of the room and no dps wants to wait for a tank to loot.
DPS will pull because they feel the tank is going slow/wasting their time.
When I tank I often only loot bosses because the dps and healer are already running ahead ready to pull trash for me.
DPS and healers have all the time in the world to loot, but tanks are expected to just go break neck speed to finish a dungeon.
agreed. and i swear that this topic specifically for heroic comes up at the start of every xpac, only because heroic loot is currently the best until m+ and raiding. give them until next week and this heroic loot and leaving dungeons issue will be dust in the wind. until 12.0 again.
they just need to get over themselves. someone leaves who cares. just 4 man it, its heroic, any tank, a hunter or even a lock can solo it at this point.
I for one cannot stand the break neck speed which ends in a wipe 75% of the time. I don’t think it’s the dps causing it. All I see is a tank that doesn’t even verify they have a healer and starts trying to kill things without a healer. The Demon Hunter tanks are the worst offenders and Death Knights are second, probably due to their healing abilities. The heroic dungeon trash needs to be more difficult so nobody (tanks or dps) will start pulling trash without their healer.
The amount of loot isnt what people want changed, its when people can actually recieve the loot. Sadly this game community is absolute scum, so i do agree, make the loot become recievable at the end of the dungeon as opposed to per boss. The only people getting upset over this are the ones dipping out of dungeons runs after they get to a specific boss, are you one of these players?
The simple solution would be chests like at the end of Delves. One chest per boss killed, with each chest having the loot table that each boss would have.
I know that. But changing how dungeons work because of a few degenerates for a short period of time is not the answer.
Again, that’s like asking for all raid loot to be put at the end of an entire raid. People in regular dungeons want rewarded as they go. M0 is a prime example of this. For some, M0 and megadungeons are their end game. Some don’t even make it through all bosses. So what are they supposed to do? Get screwed because of these few degenerates?
Ah, so you’re going to make crap up and try to dismiss me because you can’t think logically. Got it.
