“Blizzard should FORCE people to play with me!” - general discussion
Better yet i think. Show that your shiny trinket has dropped for you, but you cant get it unless you finish.
I would agree with this and we should include ALL loot including all the greens that drops as well as the grey vendor trash. Tanks and healers often don’t get to loot anything but bosses because people will pull for us because we are to slow.
Game does a background roll for you for each boss killed to see if you got loot from it. At the end, delve-style, there’s a crate with whatever rolls you succeeded. If you leave you are not there to open the crate and they either don’t mail it to you if you don’t loot it or they require that you have at least killed the final boss to be eligible
I don’t really see how this proposal would decrease the amount of item loot. They can just tune the caches to give you a chance for loot drop per boss. Turning an as-you go RNG model into an aggregate RNG model at the end.
Also: No more trash loot. Just give people gold, grays, profession mats, and loot at the end.
Or tell them that they are about to join an already in progress instances (show them the bosses dead) and give them the option to decline the group and keep their spot in the queue.
Then a player dipping on the group would be the end, because who wants to jump into a half-eaten meal?
That solves the looting problem with replacements, sure. But it still opens up a new avenue for abuse. As the tank, I decide to stop pulling after we kill the second-to-last boss. Now everyone who was in my group gets nothing for their time, and I can probably even still solo the boss once they leave to get my share of the loot.
If it’s possible to kick me for doing so, then it would be possible for innocent players to be kicked at a similar time in the dungeon, also making them ineligible for the loot they earned up to that point.
When suggesting a design change in a game, we need to consider the change holistically when examining what the new environment will be like. Yes, this change would eliminate the current situation of players leaving after a boss or two with impunity. But it seems like the potential abuse players could engage in instead would result in a worse experience overall than what we have today.
You understand that is exactly what occurs now, you are just not being told that you will be finishing someone else’s dinner when you are sat at the table. I am playing for my enjoyment and not really for that of 4 other random strangers (sorry but let’s be honest a second).
So, if you are doing a solid by licking the platter clean, you should be assured of a drop.
I am a stranger to most people. I hope they will be nice to me, so I should do the same.
Doesn’t matter if the item you wanted comes off a boss which is already dead
No it wouldn’t, we’re saying simply put ALL the loot in the chest at the end. We know M+ drops less loot than a normal/heroic, but that’s a simple adjustment.
This already happens today. I’ve been in groups where it was 4 players who queued together who wouldn’t kill last boss unless I paid them. I’ve been kicked for zero reason before the last boss. Heck I’ve been kicked during the last boss. You are rolling a dice everytime you queue for a random dungeon, and that’s just the way it is. Moving the loot to the end doesn’t really change that.
The reason its done like that in mythic+ is that you can’t back fill Mythic+. If someone leaves, or they are kicked, then you are down one player for the run.
In Mythic+
- Can’t back fill, replace players.
- Kicked removed players still get loot if the run is finished regardless if they were there at the end.
Do you really want that for LFG dungeons? If so you are going to get a lot more people just leaving because they know they will get a chance at loot that will be mailed to them
wouldnt have to. it could drop the same things and consolidate it in a chest at the end. why would it have to be less loot? it should just drop in the same way that it does now but you cant get it until the end.
The concern is that by moving all the loot to the finally boss, this situation becomes more enticing as they are now holding all the loot hostage.
It’s exactly what we need. People don’t care about a debuff if they’re farming a single item or can just play on alts while the debuff expires.
To be fair, the examples I provided are EXTREMELY rare. They have happened to me, but probably like less than 1% of all dungeons I have ran. 99% of the time no one says a word and we sprint through the dungeon. So even if it doubles that, it’s still going to be super rare. I don’t think we’re going to see it shift from 1% to 90%.
But at the same time if you think it should stay as it is then don’t be mad when people leave after the boss that drops the loot they need. They don’t need anything from the rest of the dungeon, so why should they go on. You can’t have it both ways.
Or if they have enough alts that they can just rotate through them doing the same boss for the trinket on each one.
This is really not a bad idea.
