I uninstalled Discord and disabled the suggested add-ons and I still have problems. I’m really frustrated, because I can’t really do anything. The suggestions were just temp fixes and the mouse would work a little after and then if I swapped characters or logged off and back on, I’d have the same issue. I can’t click on stuff and the buttons are unresponsive.

Thanks for reaching out with those details! While I see that you’ve tried disabling addons, the next best step will be to reset your user interface entirely. This will ensure that none of your game files have been corrupted, which is relatively common when using addons as a major game patch hits.
Note: Resetting your User Interface will return your game client to the default interface in order to rebuild core game files. If you wish to keep any addons you play with, I recommend moving the ‘Interface’ folder to your desktop temporarily (the Interface folder from Step 6 above). Once you have completed the UI reset, you can then go in and move your addons over to the new ‘Interface’ folder one at a time to see if it was causing the issue.
If the same behavior occurs after resetting the UI, try running a scan & repair on your installation to allow the installer to resolve any detected issues.

I’m also having issues with my mouse. I have to come at things at an angle to be able to click on them. Button in certain areas on my screen are unclickable.

I have bind two techniques on my mousewheel which does not work when my mouse pointer is on my action bar. When my mouse pointer is not on the action bar I can use my scroll but if curser is hovering over any action bars spells it doesnt works.
it’s really annoying because I bind on my mousewheel the two techniques that I use most often.
I don’t use Addon
Resetting the user interface is not working
Scan and Repair is not working
I play with my Scroll wheel for more then 10 years and never had problem before the patch came out. I’m not sure I would be able to change my playstyle

my ticket answered on this just gave reset UI instructions link which ive done and didnt fix mouse wheel scoll while over action bar. I went beyond disabling adds, I completely uninstalled Twitch right off of comp and deleted all addon files. still same thing. Drivers updated BIOs updated but just same thing that only started Tues morning in pre-patch update. Moljin, Chime in on my post in UI marco section of forums and youll see a long descriptive post on this exact issue. “Mouse Wheel Keybinds”

I actually use the mouse wheel to play a lot too, and never really noticed this. However when I tested it myself I too am unable to use scroll wheel to cast abilities while hovering over an item/spell!
Since Game Masters are not privy to change decisions made by the developers I can’t really say if this is considered a bug or just an undocumented change. My best advice would be to post this info on our forums as a suggestion for change! That way other players who play the same way can join in on the post and present the problem to dev together.
The devs have reverted or made new changes to the game based on player feedback many times in the past! Just takes a bit of time and effort, plus a want/need from the playerbase.
If there’s anything else you might need just let us know! Thanks for playing and enjoy the games!
So now we clearly know that the problem comes from the prepatch.
On the other hand, I don’t understand how we can think that this is a decision coming from the developers when it clearly appears to me as a bug that should be fixed quickly.

Hey all,
We discourage hijacking threads like this with unrelated issues. The OP’s problem was an unresponsive left/right click. People with other mouse problems should start their own thread. We have found the OP’s issue to be primarily related to addons.

I disabled all addons and still had issues even after reloading the UI. All my stuff is up to date, so something else is going on.
Do you have a Radeon graphics card? Remember that they also have in-game overlays, which can be disabled in the Radeon software center.
You might want to check out disabling Game Bar (In Windows) in order to test.
These days, everyone wants to have some kind of “overlay” in gaming, so what you need to do is locate any software you might suspect of having this feature and deactivate said feature in order to test, according to tech lore, WOW does not like having overlays.

Unfortunately, disabling addons is not necessarily enough, as many will still partially load in a background state when disabled. Please follow the instructions to completely reset your UI by uninstalling all addon managers and deleting the Cache, Interface, and WTF folders in your WoW Retail folder. Until you do this, we can’t help any further because it’s still likely some kind of addon corruption considering when this all started for you.
How about twitch completely uninstalled of computer and all addon files deleted. Addon bar not even showing on log in screen and no addon options in game and issue still remains. Also regarding the “HIjacked thread” who had his problem fixed due to “addons”. Hes still here posting those instructions didn’t fix either. Posted in the UI Macro guide section where others tested and and had same results but are stumped. Also a GM experiencing same thing, I’m sure that GM would be well aware of how to disable addons properly
Appreciate you testing that out. Oddly, I am not having any mouse issues currently, which is why we’re recommending steps to troubleshoot this. The big question is what all of you have in common. You mentioned the “Buttons are not responsive” - does this mean your keyboard keys are not working, or your mouse simply can’t click them? In either case, I think we need info about your setup.

Okay, so just to be clear, is this EXCLUSIVELY mouse wheel keybinds? Your original post suggested that your clicks weren’t functioning properly. Was that actually happening? If so, is that also happening still, or has that been resolved?
correct, the 1st time i posted it was both, a reg clicking of a curser that others experienced and that was resolved. Every post since then has been specifically about mouse wheel keybind “target nearest enemy” while over any action bar not functioning. also for me to try to be even more clear that original post about clciking which at the time seemed off and on was before i read lots of other forums and realised from others it was only happening while over action bar icons. i went in game and saw that what may have seemed sporadic at 1st not knowing yet what others discribed was indeed mousewheel keybind over icons

Okay, I’ve been trying to troubleshoot the wrong thing with you, so my apologies there. I would concur that a bug report would be the way to go with that. Outside of a UI issue, there’s not a lot else that could cause that behavior other than a client bug. Since I’m not a dev myself I can’t submit that just yet, but we can try to snag extra reports. I’ll rename your thread to see if that pulls more people here.
For those who are having mouse scroll wheel issues specifically, please post here and let me know what make/model your mouse is. For those who are having clicking issues, please check the information at this thread instead.
Ty, i do feel better being assured you know the issue. i know others were having more simpler issues created from addons that a UI reset could resolve. Something is def different here. guess ill hang tight and hope for the best. Feels bad tho =( Im curious if you have experienced it yourself?

none of this works… this seems to be a hard coding issue… mouse works but right click hold to move or left click to look with camera does not work. running MacOS catalina 10.15.7

Same problem. Mouse wheel binds not working when cursor is over action bars. Addons deleted, all interface/cache/wtf folders also deleted, but issue still persists. Strangely enough, installing Bartender provided a workaround for the problem, though obviously I would prefer not to have to use this clunky “solution”.
