It could be updated

Talbuks would like a word

Please do not change Ashes of Al’ar, at least on the screen of the person who is riding it. I got this mount because I loved the sparkle! Now I’ve done loop-di-loops on it and I am in love.

ashes of alar has the most beautiful model in the game.

leave ASHES OF ALAR ALONE! if blizzard starts updating old mounts i am just going to up and quit. touching something i worked hard for is unacceptable.

It’s ugly. There are better firebirds.

Not updating ashes but making a new model ashes for a new mount (and leaving the old mount alone)

really all they need to do with some of the old mounts are some texture updates also there is a severe lack of kodo mounts and it makes me sad, imagine what they could of done if the original races got heritage mounts along withe their armor too

this is a great point. i think if they just update these old models, they shouldn’t remove the original ones - just include the bonus modernized version…else you might see some unhappy players

the druid cheetah form is a great example of this. People don’t want customizations being removed from the game at all - nobody in the community wants that…we just want more options.

It’s kind of odd, because the original scarab lord got an update - but they never removed the original model, they just got a free bonus/modernized mount. I’d like to see more of that with some of the more iconic mounts (Ashes, certain raptors/tigers/kodos, etc.) :revolving_hearts:

More mount collection achieves would be awesome.

I like achieves. That’s one reason why Classic bores me to death. More achieves will always get a :+1: from me.

Agreed.

Just like there’s no reason to have achievements over 900 mythic+ score, or the third boss on normal mode of a raid.

It makes no sense to waste any effort on these achievements, stopping at 10% of whats attainable is more than enough achievements to show interest in something and work toward that, any more is just wasted effort.

this was sarcasm.

Callings are…calling! But yeah sounds terrible. I’m currently grinding for the ZF tiger and then I’m pretty much gonna stop farming gold forever… I spent 5.6mil on plagued proto and 5mil on longboi since BFA. I’m back up to 1700k give or take a little.

I’m being so cheap I didn’t even buy any vendor mounts this expansion :sunglasses:

not trying to be rude, i just genuinely am curious how much effort this would take? this is what ive never understood about adding these damn acheivements. to do this guys list is this 2 hours of work? 2 days of work? 2 months of work? I’m literally clueless, just trying to learn why its been 4 years of nothing

This is a great idea, honestly the otter is way better than the stupid yeti, blizzard doesn’t seem to care about the community that mount farms in this game, even if the expansion is garbage, we will still pay the subs to collect the mounts and not fall behind, I personally play on multiple accounts to farm these mounts faster. They don’t realize that mount farmers are the least ones that probably will quit in the game. If they keep feeding us these garbage models and not pay attention they are going to slowly kill one of their most loyal communities. The 400 mount one was such garbage.

Completely agree.

I have heard one of their rationales is that they don’t want newer players to see a really cool reward with a huge time sink to get it. I think this reasoning is flawed for at least four reasons.

  • having a very desirable ‘high end’ reward that players can strive for is exactly what made this game so engaging. Legendaries in vanilla, ashes of al’ar in bc, invincible in wrath, mythic level xmog/mounts/titles in current day game, Glad mounts, just to name a few.

  • Cutting Edge / HoF/ Gladiator all exist. These not only take a huge time sink but extreme dedication in and out of the game to gain the skills/knowledge/network needed to complete them. Glad mounts also go away and are unique/desirable.

  • Although I don’t have the figures to back this up, a 500+ mount collector is likely to be way more valuable from a business perspective than a new player. I have personally spent thousands of dollars over the years between accts and tokens. I’d be surprised if most new players in 2022 even make it to 1 yr worth of sub time paid.

  • There are so many rewards, and specifically mounts, already. Is a cool looking 600 mount collection achieve really going to cause that much stress for new players? I wonder if they have any data to back up their claim that new players would see a 600 mount reward and quit because of it. Seems like a really weak excuse.

I’ve said this in the past, but it appears the current dev team is tunnel visioned on this and many other topics. I have 0 hope anything will change until there are new people in decision making roles on the WoW team.

The new reward is a big improvement! Will gives the devs credit here, thank you!

While I would like to see a higher ceiling on these achieves next, this was a big step in the right direction.5

And to me, that is what the underlying problem is. Once you get into that 400-500+ mount range you’re not “striving” for anything, but instead at the mercy of 1% and worse RNG drop rates.

Chasing deterministic goals is INCREDIBLY FUN! You’re right about that!

But that IS NOT what the upper reaches of mount collecting is. It’s just ENDLESSLY farming RNG.

THAT IS NOT FUN. And, as others have pointed out, it’s enough to make you want to quit. We shouldn’t be encouraging this kind of gameplay. But instead saying “pick and choose the ones you like, and eventually you’ll get the Achv.”

500 out of 1000 is fine for that. You’ll already bash your head against the wall of RNG just trying for that. But anything beyond that… doesn’t belong. It’s not FUN. Why do people have this obsession about forcing things into the game that aren’t fun???

For those who do find it fun, should they not have rewards?
