Most people do not want Fresh Servers

I’m one of the players that would like to start over on a fresh server, patch 2.0.1 or the one right after.

Just like the rp pvp servers huh? A small minority… if there’s 2500 people who want a fresh server isn’t that enough to warrant one? What does it take away from your ability to enjoy the game?

  1. We are not responsible nor the cause for dead servers. It is unfortunate, but those people can transfer off to more populated ones since Blizzard couldn’t give a damn about server health/balance.
  2. Yes, bots will always be there. And they should be stricter and quicker with banning them. A fresh server means a bot will start with 0 gold and have to start over. They won’t have mages to boost them the same way in Classic. And I would encourage not only Fresh servers, but all servers to foster their communities to identify and report bots, as well as be more vocal about them to Blizzard.
  3. Classic turned out into a different beast. The knowledge and warts were abused. They can keep it. I don’t want any part of it.

classic is a product of current era meta gaming. you won’t escape them even if you rereleased classic and tbc classic fresh servers a billion times.

Yes, because the amount of new players required it. They did some fresh realms, they did others allowing transfers from existing realms.

That is true, but it is a branch of the World of Warcraft, however this will be DOA. We had several of those servers that never thrived. People do not want to be on dead realms, where you have no auction house, no options, no community. The talk about the fresh experience is beautiful. The practice is totally different.

Yes, it is. We all went through this again with Classic World of Warcraft. Now that we’re progressing through TBC, it is time that you enjoy the community you are and embrace the newcomers. Or find yourself a new community if you are not welcome in yours.

You should go to server called Thalnos or Sul’thraze. They are dead. No economy. Go start there, from fresh. Build your community. Let us know how it worked.

Maybe in 15 years Blizzard can do it all over again, who knows.

I can see the demand right now, it is irrelevant.

For sure on the meta gaming part. We should all do our part for the spirit and the game and overall health- but how is folks doing their own thing and enjoying the game such a bother to you?

Why should we be forced to join your community when we’re just asking for our own server? people asking for a fresh server want the opportunities that everyone else had when classic wow came out after you guys begged blizzard for classic, I don’t understand how classic players aren’t supportive of something so similar to what was originally fought for.

Hi!

We went through the same thing when the Classic Vanilla Q&A said they had no plans for RPPVP servers as it was too niche. Our thread also experienced such lovely comments like:

The RP-PVP realms on Retail are dead.

Why would we want them on Classic since those would only end up dead as well?

Then make most of the RP servers as RP-PvP, I personally think you will be shooting yourselves in the foot doing that though and your servers will be dead and then you will be complaining again but whatever. PvP servers shouldn’t be reduced just to make one RP.

RP-PvP has been the most dead server type for years.

Etc, etc. By the way, Grobbulus is an amazing server.

There are several servers opened, and currently dead. Why don’t you make them yours?

People can’t answer that. It is too hard. there is no economy, it is there. Why not?

I’m late to the thread but I’ll chime in my 2 copper.
I know we aren’t being forced into fresh. Let me preface with that.
If fresh was forced then I’d probably level a shaman which I plan on leveling anyways. I’d be pissed because everything I did would be wiped. Meaning my other toons, the gold I have, etc…I’d have to start over. No bueno.

I am not at all against having progression servers as well as a few fresh ones. There is absolutely no harm in having fresh servers as an option. I say let the freshies live it up. Best of both worlds.

Haha, yeah, making everyone erase their characters to start from 0 would be business suicide. People work hard on their characters mounts, reps, professions, etc, and they take pride in that.

They’ll have progression servers to walk through the portal with and have a good time.

If I’m looking to buy a home and there’s a ghost town that has a lot of open homes why should I be forced to buy one in that town, when me and a large portion of other people want to build new homes and create a new town? Are we responsible for the ghost town?
Does not living in a ghost town hurt those who currently live there?

You’re not looking to buy a home, you’re looking for a brand new house to be provided for you when there’s a perfectly good house already there.

It’s not a brand new house though it’s been lived in and deserted. And why should I be forced to into the house when I’d rather build my own? There’s no negative effects of me building my own house with my own friends and starting our own town. Forcing people to play on a server because it’s a ‘good’ server seems a Little draconian don’t you think?

I find amusing the way you tried to explain this. Here is the thing: Fresh or dead server is the same thing. But you forgot one point: why would Blizzard add a new server while there are still realms that can receive new people like you and the so called community you (seem to believe you) represent?

Right, you want them to make a new house because you don’t want to live in a house that exists and is already there for you to live in.

You don’t want to build a house. You want it made for you.

And at what extraordinary cost would this be on blizzard? The small indie company…

The difference has been explained many many many times over, if you don’t understand it by now you never will:( they are very different and I’m sorry you can’t see that. Maybe if you go back through and read the differences you’ll be enlightened:)

Not really, you used an example that showed you want them to build something for you instead of you using something that already exists. Feels like you want a fresh start because you can’t seem to fit well into existing realms or communities.

For that, a dead server already works. Check reddit, several people are doing it already, instead asking for something unreasonable and not feasible.

This would be the case if the current state of Classic abuse didn’t give the results we have now.

Frost Mage Boost/Gold Farm Meta.
GDKP.
Both encouraged gold farming/buying/selling to absurd levels.

I will also add a new server has a way more current level population than right now. Everyone is preparing their alts to be 60 and mats farmed.

I’m going to be leveling a Paladin, I want the world the be alive and I enjoy World PvP too.
