Most people do not want Fresh Servers

there are two different groups asking for fresh servers. the pirate server ones are trying to say that they have mass support of people because others don’t want to deal with a messed up economy etc. they’re two different groups of people though. if you got a fresh server you’d stay on it until you decided to stop playing it. they’re pretending you’d just want to redo it constantly 8 million times. lol

So I referenced two other games that do this and have a substantial fan base, so I’m not sure why it’s so hard for you to understand; if players want to play on a server that resets every 12 months why would you care. If a player wants to play on a bc server that wasn’t available in classic, why would you care? How does it negatively Effect you? You’re free to play where ever you’d like:)

I think they should leave Classic servers the hell alone and launch separate TBC servers. Offer character cloning from Classic to TBC instead of the other way around… it’s bizarre

I don’t think there will be any new fresh server on launch. Reason is: Blizzard is currently working with Classic peak numbers. That is, they’re counting that all realms as we are playing now will be full as they were in classic at its peak.

If that is true, then no new realms will be necessary (the only reason new realms - fresh - were added back in TBC launch in 2007).

If - and only if - the number of players coming back for TBC increases drastically over the peak of Classic WOW, then maybe Blizzard will add more servers - and in this case, I highly doubt it will be “Fresh”, they will most likely allow free transfers from existing realms to relieve the server’s population.

The sole idea of “fresh” is dead before even being considered.

i’m explaining to someone who is confused why some people are against fresh when to them it seems unreasonable to be against it. fresh and infinite fresh are two different things. i’m just clarifying to them because they didn’t understand. you know?

Nice! Well now that it has been explained do you not have an answer to my questions or did you realize there’s actually no net negative effect on you? so it doesn’t matter if there’s fresh and infinite fresh servers

You seem to misunderstand what is happening.
They’re making a clone of existing classic servers, which will be the Classic frozen.

On patch day, you will have to decide one of the following:

Progress to TBC. Your character will be removed from Classic frozen realms.
Stay forever frozen in time with classic. Your character will not exist in TBC classic.
Both worlds. Your character will exist in Classic frozen and you will be able to progress to TBC as well. You have to pay for duplicating your character.

my issue with it is this. what happens to the classic forever servers. are they merged with the new servers, are the new servers poofed when the season is up, what happens to the people who decide to play on them but want to keep playing classic and not just fresh classic again? or even go through the dark portal.

There’s a huge desire for fresh servers for a variety of reasons so I think it’s almost guaranteed that it will happen. Large groups of customers tend to influence blizzard. especially when there’s no negative effects!

Or it’s just outright dead because the people who care about a dedicated endgame aren’t going to be on a fresh server.

This sounds more like you don’t want to join existing server communities and instead want to make your own, and force people to join.

This isn’t going to happen, the economy will always be screwed up regardless of how fresh the server is.

So for the sake of it they would be two different entities entirely

  1. a classic server that resets every 12 months. Goes through all the of the patches one by one and then resets.
  2. A server that starts right at the start of BC or pre patch and then moves along with all of the other bc servers

This is hoax. There is a small desire for fresh servers being overly-hyped by a very small amount of people (minority but very loud) advocating for something that it not only is not feasible but makes no sense at all.

someone tried to speak for the majority in HS the other day. dude argued the forums weren’t representative of the whole community cuz no one posts there. got told to post on reddit if he thought a larger audience would agree with him. he did it. everyone on reddit agreed with the forums. could try the same thing with this. lol

I will glady answer that I do want TBC fresh servers, in fact, it is the most appealing form of the game for my case. I can understand people that played their lives on the classic servers and desire to keep their riches.
You also have to understand that there is some players that enjoy a fresh economy, a fresh leveling experience, aswell as liking the TBC expansion.

When TBC was released back in 07, there was new servers; yes because the popularity grew, but also because it is healthy.

I will not play TBC if it is not for fresh servers; which in my case, makes the most of the experience. Raiding black temple with full T3 gear is fun, sure, but not my type of game.

  • They released new servers with TBC back in the day.
  • Many enjoy the rush of a new server with everyone leveling at the same time.
  • It is a wonderful experience, with new friends, communities, and memories made.
  • World PvP is alive and kicking.
  • Classic ‘warts and all’ got abused, and it is a social experiment they have learned from, hence #somechanges.
  • This has resulted Classic servers becoming absurd.
  • The gold farmers, bots, and people who AoE grinded and boosted on mages can keep their dirty gold there.
  • GDKPs became wildfire popular, and encouraged people to buy gold to win all the items.
  • Many of us are willing and happy to leave our 60s/gold behind to start anew.

Be in denial all you want, FRESH is the future and the gem of Classic WoW’s replayability.

What do you think will happen when we have eventually gone through the entire Classic trilogy? Those people will go “I want to do it all over again, man that was fun”

Private server players are aware of the addiction of FRESH, you will soon see how in demand FRESH servers really are.

I can understand why people want fresh servers. It resets the economy in the most simple manner possible. It allows them to level up a character from the new races alongside their friends who don’t. It will extend the life of the first phase to last longer as people have to push from point 1.

I can understand why people don’t want fresh servers. They have invested a lot of time in characters they currently have. They have no interest in changing to the new races, nor want to wait for friends who do.

Either way, I have no dog in this show at present because my highest Classic character is 17. The difference is negligible to me. During original progression, I never felt a desire to push a character as high and as fast as I could until Death Knights became available.

Actually you never have to make that choice. According to Blizzard, you can pay them and have a clone on both servers. LOL

they released them because there was demand for the new servers. there’s tons of dead classic servers that need to be filled before there is a reason for new ones to be created. unless regulations are put into place the economy will be no different because bots will be on those servers the same as they are on these and they’ll make and sell gold and boost people. it won’t change just because the server is fresh.

I think we have different definitions of dead… because dead to me means 0 activity at all. It is much more likely that fresh servers would have less talented players who didn’t steamroll content like guilds like apes who are just trying to clear as fast as possible. It is much more likely fresh servers would have players who want to down the content with out doing it ASAP, and maybe take a little longer. Maybe I’m lame but killing illidan the day bt opens sounds like a bummer.
Second I’m not forcing or making it seem like anyone has to join a fresh server and “my community”… how did you come up with that?! It’s merely an option and if players wish to get off a notoriously toxic server like whitemane, can you blame them?
