More than one account

I’ve read on the forums about people having more than one account. Does that mean they pay a multiple of $15 per month to play? If so, what’s the point of that? I’m not judging, I’m just trying to understand the benefits of that instead of alts on the same account. What am I missing?

Thanks.

Using my paladin on account 1, I’ve boosted 8 other characters to level 60+

So there’s one benefit.

To cheese Professions and for gold farming basically. Theres really no other reason to have multiple accounts than that, unless you want to attempt multiboxing and grief other players in PvP with multiple accounts.

Most of the time these alt accounts are not even connected to the user’s main battle.net account, and are on a completely separate Battle.net account on a second PC with a different IP address and are used for gold selling,/ farming, with a fake real ID name or User info and a throwaway email address. So that the person’s main account wont be affected if the alt account is taken down or banned.
There’s a lot more shady stuff that happens in this game than most people realize.

I will be buying a second account.
I want to play both fractions same server.

Yes.

A number of them is so they can use their main account, typically paladin/mage, to boost other classes they would like to play.

Some still multibox, despite Blizzard making it much more difficult. So that they can essentially solo more difficult content.

Thanks! I hadn’t considered the mage or Paladin boosting. Still, $15 a month seems a lot for that. I guess it’s worth it to some.

I’m not following the other shenanigans, such as gold selling. But, I’ve no interest in that, anyway.

Thanks again!

This can already be done on PVE. I have characters on both factions on same realm.

Its the best legal option really to support lower level char fixing in leveling.
58 stock gear can run up to 30-ish dungeons no issue. and its a straight up gear funnel.

Other Option is to acquire the say 15 gold (1- to 60 is going up to 15 gold) to 50 gold (slave runs) . that is a lot of farming or well, you know, “other” ways.

I’ve run this setup off and on. Its a godsend for some orange/red quests on chars up to 30. the 2nd account even with a still stock boosty runs these out nice.

Some would say be social. when /who says 2 people are there, and you are both of them, there really isn’t much socializing going on. Unless you have split personalities anyway.

remember its okay to talk to yourself. It’s when you start arguing with yourself you should start to be worried.

My dual account setup tbh is the only way I have been able to see some dungeons. NO one comes to the night elf dungeon. Considering its a fight just to get to the damn entrance…I don’t blame them.

Deadmines is much easier to hit up. I don’t ponder hours as to why its a favored lower level dungeon xp spammer.

You can pay for it by farming gold in retail.

having multiple accounts means, you’ll be able to login all your alts in same time.
I personally use multi accounts for fun, for example…

-joining same Wsg with 2x accounts 1Rogue stays to defend at flag & 1Rogue to gank in mid, i control the one in mid till i hear the sound of our flag being taken i vanish on the 1 in mid & switch to the second screen to control the one defending, if i failed to return flag or died i still have my 2nd rogue rdy to interrupt EFC in mid, and same goes for AB if one stays to defend and 1 try to steal.

i even did 2v2 arena Mage-Rogue trying to control both separately , it’s super fun especially when you achieve any win xD can he hard if done with other comp but a stealthier & sap/blind & sheep is everything you need vs low rate players.

-in the open world 1following the other will make sure that alliance can’t cc you to steal herb/mine, also it gives you unfair advantage vs others if you decided to sacrifice 1char to waste enemy cd’s then go with your 2nd to finish the job.

-also it’s easier to make 2x same class with different spec different gear than collecting all gear and changing spec on same class. "sure u can do that on same account but you won’t be able to log both in-case you wanna group them together and solo the event quests which can’t be done without other players and you can help yourself easily with certain achievements when achievment system arrives in wrath if u control 2 in same time.

and while you’re focusing on playing 1account if you’re in a bg or even a raid, your 2nd account can be out in the world flying, and whenever you have a downtime with your first account short break or slow pulls on boss’s or defending in bg, U can use your 2nd account to farm, it’s so easy if you’re not using just 1screen for both.

there are much more to do with more than 1account.

Wait til you see a 5boxer tank/3dps/healer.
Those are fun to grief.

When you have utterly no friends at all so you make them yourself.

Yep.

Self Boost a retailer on the 2nd account to help that out too lol. only downside is first run is gonna be BFA cart on rails.

I have two accounts to have one alliance account and one horde account on PVP servers. Throughout the last couple of years it’s been fun, although it was more fun before the server changes.

Haha so true.

Leveling two Resto Druids simultaneously is somehow less mind-numbing than leveling one Resto Druid.

I use two separate accounts for profession purposes. The main account will eventually have one of each class with BIS WotLK professions. The other account has my gatherers, bank/auction toon, additional tailors to craft glacial bags in WotLK, etc… It’s far from necessary but there are certainly benefits to it as well.

Alex Jones is that you?

I have to say that I have always thought that multi-boxing is the coolest thing ever. There is some way to marry up your accounts to one keyboard and have a single keystroke trigger on all of the characters; I don’t know really how it all works.

I’ve seen them in pvp and it always makes me laugh; I mean it is an extreme thing to do and I can only guess if it is satisfying to nuke some player this way.

And, I’ve seen five druids in flight-form herbing; I always wish I had a knock-back or stun to mess them up. Candidly, if they are gathering a lot to buy tokens to pay for many accounts – that is way too much effort!

My team did a WSG against a 10 ele shammy multiboxer in Classic… which was interesting. We obviously won but it was interesting anyway.

Input broadcasting software isn’t allowed now so it has to be done manually, although I’ve seen a couple of people do a good job with that.
