More people quitting due to no dual spec

I hate leveling in a game about leveling please make it so I can seamlessly change my role in the role playing game designed to have consequences for decisions.

Of course itā€™s easy to make that decision when you play a warlock or any solely dps class. Thatā€™s why Iā€™m making that choice with my druid. Iā€™m specing her dps and never healing with her. Makes it harder for the players I see every night on the lfg channel ā€œLf one more healer for H dungeon.ā€ But it makes it easier for me. I quest, I farm, I can even pvp fairly well with just one spec. Iā€™ll do a lot less dungeons with her but having fun playing all the rest of the game makes up for it.

And those classes have the added advantage of being able to fulfill an in demand role at the drop of a hat, rogues donā€™t get to heal dungeonsā€¦ and on top of that to be viable in PvP more than once every 5 minutes we need to respec too. It impacts everybody in different waysā€¦ but thatā€™s the beauty of it, no one is safe from it if theyā€™re intention is to change roles.

you want to ā€œplay the actual gameā€ but you donā€™t like what the actual game was like. Also, unless they delete items/characters/account these are very empty threats. love the conclusion though, one day i wanna aspire to speak for everyone as well!

And also by different degrees. Thatā€™s why almost all the people posting against dual spec are dps classes.

Iā€™ll have more fun giving up the so called ā€œadded advantageā€ and just speccing dps on my druidā€¦

Yes but, dps donā€™t get instantaneously invited to every group they want to join, itā€™s much harder to join a group for heroics as a rogue regardless of your capabilities than it is for a tank or a healer.

If thatā€™s such a great advantage for you roll a tank or healer. I donā€™t see it as that great an advantage so Iā€™m speccing dps on my druid. Iā€™ll give up the instantaneous groups to have fun playing all the rest of the game outside dungeons.

Even harder since many tanking or healing classes choose to spec dps because of the respec costs. Less tanks and healers and more dps looking for a group.

You imply two things with your post, A. That I donā€™t get invited and am upset about it, B. That tanking and healing arenā€™t fun.

The first is an assumption based on an example I gave, which affirms my belief and my point, there is a solution to everyoneā€™s problems. For the record I exclusively run with buds so I never pug nor wait for groups.

The second is a subjective opinion which you are allowed to have and welcome to influence your own game choices around, as you just stated you would.

Never made any such claim. I love to heal. Itā€™s my favorite part of the game. But the cost is too high. Questing or farming or pvp in a resto spec isnā€™t fun for me. If I spec resto the only part of the game thatā€™s fun is healing dungeons or raids. Iā€™ll give up healing so I can have fun with the rest of the game. When dual spec was added I made a resto spec and never looked back.

And your attitude is ef everyone else because Iā€™ve got mine.

Just out of curiosity what can you do as dps that you canā€™t do as a healer? What are you making money from? And what is the cost? Mana potions?

I donā€™t support dual spec either but try what your doing the other way around. Main resto with moonkin as your off spec and you might feel differently from how you do now.

I am no longer interested in seeing dps mains talk about how they have no issue affording to respec. Until I see a whole bunch of healers talk about how much they love to pay for respecs an issue is present.

Itā€™s not about what can be done itā€™s about what is fun to do. Despite your view that everyone who doesnā€™t have fun the same way you do hates the game fun actually is subjective. For me questing, farming, and pvp in a resto druid spec is the least fun of every class and spec Iā€™ve tried. And Iā€™ve tried them all back in vanilla and original bc. I tried to spec resto in vanilla and again in BC and while I loved healing as a resto druid it ruined the rest of the game for me. I didnā€™t even try this time around. I rolled a druid knowing that I would spec dps to play the whole game, never heal dungeons, and do a lot less of them since finding a group is so much harder and time consuming in a dps spec. Thatā€™s the choice I made just for the fun of it. There are many potential tanks and healers who make the same choice

I actually intend to.

Iā€™m currently finishing leveling a mage and a priest through dungeons only. When they are 70, then I will go do the quests to make the money.

While I wait for dungeons, I kill mobs in the area the dungeon is located. I have absolutely 0 issue killing mobs that are my level as a Holy Priest. I donā€™t two shot things like I would if I were a DPS spec, but it doesnā€™t take long at all.

AoE farming as a mage is an example of what you can not do as a healer. Farming locations in outland for rep items is something you can not do solo as a healer. Questing efficiently in any regard is something you can not do as a healer. I am sure the list does not end there.

I play a mage now because I played a holy paladin in actual tbc and i had the exact same experience our healers are having now. Its hell out there if you are a healer.

Youā€™re incorrect in stating these things are not possible on a healer. The only class capable of farming like a mage isā€¦ a mageā€¦ thatā€™s one of the advantages of playing that class.

You can farm things on your healer, itā€™s just not as efficientā€¦

So you are affirming my point and beliefā€¦ if you donā€™t like dealing with the repercussions simply donā€™t deal with the repercussions and play what you enjoy, whether thatā€™s out of convenience or fun factor.

Or just have a separate character that you do all your farming on

I do and so do many others. That makes for a shortage of tanks and healers so many dps canā€™t find groups or spend hours looking. But I get that you have buds you always run with and donā€™t give an ef about server wide problems other people have.

AoE farming as a class that can also heal is really only realistic for a Paladin.

Rep farming can absolutely be done as a Healer. It will take you 2 extra casts.

Questing efficiently depends on your definition of efficiency. A Healer, in Healing Gear, can absolutely kill quest mobs with minimal effort. Might not two shot things as if you were a DPS Spec, so it may take 2 more casts.

Hey I respec multiple times a week for PvP / PvE, I know it sucksā€¦ also itā€™s debunked that the tank/healer shortage is not due to a lack of dual spec. Does it help somewhat? No doubt, but enough to make a meaningful difference? Absolutely notā€¦ blizzard continued to incentivize tanking in wrath by giving people free rare mounts in bags just for doing random ques.

If any players should be quitting it is these 3. Quitting over a change that they dont have to use shows what type of ppl they are.

They can join those that quit because if mounts and boosts

Any player that quits over a change that makes the game better and more enjoyful to other players also make thr game better by not having the weirdos around.

In fact i want these changes even more now. I never even thought about the added bonus that these tools would quit to sweeten the deal.

Even the holy grail private servers that are relaunching are implementing changes that are so fricken obviously good for the game.

So please. Go, dont wait for the change. Just go now. Pleassssseeeee.
