More people quitting due to no dual spec

Safe “almost” there considering I’m a druid and I’ve seen other druids also posting against dual spec.

You should drop this “it’s because you’re a pure DPS class!” argument though, it’s pretty weak.

I am leveling a healer, as holy. I have 0 problem questing efficiently. To make gold she will pick herbs and make Elixirs. There are multiple ways to farm that don’t involve grinding mobs.

The respec cost is not intended to be something you “love”, the whole point is that it is a deterrent.

How is this a fair proposition, forcing us to argue why people should love a thing they are inherently supposed to be deterred by?

Nobody loves things that are meant to be a barrier or a gate, but that’s its purpose and it serves that purpose for a distinct design principle which you break by adding dual spec. A design principle that is inherent to the TBC experience, the one I pay $15 for every month, that you immediately scam me out of by changing the game more than it already has been.

This is true. But also why i keep telling ppl to stop trying to come up with different excuses. Just say it for what it is.

It is just an easy free way to change your spec. A change that the majority of ppl agree with.

Not adding spec changes. Thats already there. Just making this one thing easier and free. And right now that is the only thing most are asking for. So saying it will lead to more changes is nonsense. There will always be some amount of ppl that want all of retail changes. But they are already asking for them anyway.

The majority of ppl dont want lfr. Spells removed, talent trees collapsed, easy mode heroics. The majority if ppl do not want a lot of the changes that retail has. But that same majority want dual spec because it is that good of a game improvment.

No one is quitting because of no dual spec. Stop making up lies. They’re quitting because blizzard sucks at developing a game that should NEVER have been changed to these measures. No one has any connection to their character, the entire point of an rpg.

Hello Frank.

Listen.

Sometimes, a game has rules.

Those rules serve a purpose, to force the player to play within the construct of a specified game design.

Let’s take Basketball, for example. You can’t pick up the ball and run with it, that’s called traveling. This is a rule that is meant to add a dimension to the gameplay. It’s a trivial element, in a sense, all basketball players know how to dribble and it’s the first thing anybody learns when learning how to play Basketball, because you literally can’t move anywhere on the court without knowing how to dribble. Just like respeccing is trivial.

Now let’s add a way to get around the traveling rule, say players can pick it up the ball with both hands and run it down the court as long as they call it out loud that they are about to do it. Holy heck, moving down the court became a lot easier now, didn’t it? I mean you can basically just ram it all the way down like you’re running to an end-zone. Huge QOL upgrade!

Except…it breaks design of the game. The idea is that you must tediously dribble the ball the whole time, it’s inherently a design facet of Basketball, which opens you up to for undesirable counter-play and or messing up or other things. It’s an inherent QOL upgrade to make it so players don’t have to dribble, but they will never add a way for players to do this.

That’s what dual spec is to me when it comes to classic or tbc. You are trying to essentially circumvent what I believe is an inherent design principle of talent trees and talent points that “breaks” the entire point of them.

I wouldn’t promote them adding a way to get around dribbling in Basketball, just like I won’t promote Blizz adding a way to get around respec costs.

Simple.

Cue the doofus that just comes out and acts like this entire argument boils down to “#nochanges!!!”… :man_facepalming:

You’re welcome.

Of all the stupid arguments people have made this is by far the most moronic. Running with the ball isn’t part of the game, respecing is. If a basketball player could already pay the ref $50 dollars to be allowed to run with the ball it might be comparable to respecs and removing that cost might be comparable to dual specs. Respecs already exist in the game. Dual spec doesn’t add anything to the game. It simply makes it less costly and less annoying and time wasting to redo talents and bars.

You absolutely can travel in Basketball if you so desire. You’ll just be penalized for it by the ball going to the other team. Just like you can respec, you’ll just be penalized 50g.

Play by the rules of the game you opted to play, or take the penalty. Don’t ask for the rules to be changed.

Also let’s not ignore that Blizz reported in their earnings call that TBCC is doing very well…and yet there is no dual spec, so it’s not like the lack of dual spec seems to be creating any cause for concern

You’re the prime example of how abysmally weak and breathtakingly moronic the arguments against dual spec are.

no u

Alright, I’ll assume this means you have no actual good argument then, since we’re going ad-hom-mode.

It’s been fun crushing you in these threads.

Delusional too

They are usually terrible players who know when DS is announced they wont have a free pass I can see why they dry so much on here.

Its nice to see the vast majority of people support DS though. Hopefully we can get the word our some more and blizzard can fix classic. Keep up the positive attitude everyone.

“this game sucks” = positive attitude?

oh weird

Okay I’ll give you an actual WoW-based example, since nothing seems to penetrate you.

What is the harm in reducing the gold cost of epic flying?

I mean it’s a necessary thing to reach certain instances, and it saves you a lot of gold, and even makes you a lot of gold in the long run if you consider the benefits of flying that fast.

Big QOL upgrade, right? No downside? I mean why not just make it free, yeah?

Long post for nothing.

Better example. Your playing football and both teams can only run the ball. No passing. Just like it was done when football first started. Then they decided that it was kind of boring to not be able to throw the ball. So they made a change. The change was to allow players to pass the ball forward. Everyone loved it. A very few didnt. They kept saying the game wasnt designed that way to allow passing. Everyone just ignored them for being simple minded. The game went on and became the most popular sport in the united states. The players were coming up with new plays and the fans loved it. Then the nfl added other changes. Like no more rough tackling. Gotta play touch football now. Then they added more changes. Including bringing politics in and started kneeling during the national anthem. The game lost fans and became less popular. The simple minded ppl said stuff like. See forward passing ruined the game.

An old player that played before passing was allowed and played some after it was changed finally retired. During an interview they asked him what he thought about tofays football. He said it sucked. He wished they could go back to the way it was. Back when they were encouraged to make big hits and back before all of the stupid politics back to the beginning when it was fun. BUT, he said, they should still allow forward passing. It made the game so much better. I wish i could go back and play my college years again except this time be able to pass the ball. Cause that was one change that everyone agreed was good and made the game better.

Thats how you make a wow analogy to sports. Who watches basketball?
