More Demon Hunter Races Please

i agree, more demon hunter races! my votes go to draenei, and orcs, with man’ari eredar and fel-orc skins!

and if they need lore to make it work, just say it was some of akama’s boys ‘empowered’ by the fel magic, and some of the bonechewer orcs left behind in outland who were fully commited to the cause!

They’d kinda have to have red skin wouldn’t they? Isn’t that what the fel infusion did to them? Which just begs to question why elven demon hunters don’t have red skin…

blood elves can have red skin, like nelf ones get darker-purple skin. orc dh would get the red outland-felorc skin, or the draenor purple fel-orc skins, while draenei would get the dark-purple-y skin, or the red ones we see all over the broken isles/argus.

It would only confirm my theories that gnomes are demons set out to ruin honest goblins. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just joking, but while at adding more race, lets add goblins, need our crazyness to stab our own eyes and call it an improvement…

I am not calling you out to disagree or disprove, but to open up the discussion further:

How do you propose to lore justify other races becoming DH?

Same way any of them became demon hunters: Something terrible happened to them by the demons and they became hateful and wanted revenge, and then someone taught them to be demon hunters.

That’s not how dh became dh’s.

Um, the WORLD was invaded by demons. The story of Legion expac was that the peoples of Azeroth came together. It affected everyone, especially the Alliance and Horde races.

…how not?

But Illidan is the character that made dh’s. How does one become a dh in the absense of Illidan is the question.

The DHs that are currently in the each faction could have easily trained more DHs.

But you don’t train a dh to become a dh. Many Sindorei are seen in the ramparts of BT in TBC training with glaives, but they are not DH in the proper sense. Illidan did not infuse them with fel. I’m looking for an actual process and who could perform this process in the absence of Illidan.

Literally any current DH could teach it. This obsession with Illidan needs to end.

It’s not an obsession. Illidan literally took an elf and transformed it into a dh. DH is not a class as much as it is a race, just as Illidan himself is no longer and elf, but a demon.

Mind you I am not arguing against the concept. I’m looking for ideas on how to make it work within established lore, sans retcons, and without following the current model of “cool rule” to just make them appear in game.

No, DH is not like a race. It based off knowledge, skill, and practice. Something anyone could do.

No, it’s not. They have fel running through their bodies. They have fel powers “given” them by Illidan. They are creations of Illidan.

No, just like priests channel holy, mages channel arcane, shadow priests channel void, DH hunters channel and infuse themselves with fel.

Later, a group of night elves, inspired by Illidan’s example, made a pact to turn the Burning Legion’s powers against it, fighting destruction with destruction. Obviously they could not gain their powers in the same way Illidan did, but they discovered other means. In the millennia since, other night elves, and a few creatures of other races, have made the same pact, binding demonic essence in their bodies and using it to destroy the Legion’s minions

Today, what, or specifically who is the only source of demonic essence?

We have to have a viable, lore logical source for this essence. If not Illidan, then who/what? Let’s make this work, but let’s make it work outside of the cool rule model.
