Monks get Buffed and Paladins Get nerfed

I understand that every tank has its own thing, til it gets stripped from whining. Not you of course… this forum.

You think the intro for tww means anything. Thats so stupid. Ret is the first 3 letters of what you are, I guess.

Rage is a limited mechanic and you literally have to use it for everything prot does except for thunderclap, interupt , shouts, taunts, long cooldown defensives and stuns.

You have to use rage to get ignore pain up, as well as to do actual damage other than thunderclap/blast on prot. Also, it only lets you ignore half the damage taken, and does not work properly against specific things like DOT effects or 1 shot mechanics that prot paladin can actually become completely immune to.

Prot paladin only uses their holy power mechanic on self heals or extra damage. Everything else is free. Ret uses it for the same stuff but gets it 3x as fast because their melee attacks generate it in addition to half their dps skills. The other half, of course, either use it, or are free.

since this post is almost certainly going to be flagged, i’ll just state i am not one of them. “i might disagree with what you say, but i will defend with my life your right to say it.”

that said, i think your brain is straight up broken.

Item level- 611. Raid history- 0 kills of any boss ever. M+ history? 0 kills of any m+.

Who was this aimed at?

The paladin directly above it.
They claim to know anything at all yet have never actually played the game on their paladin.
They think delves matter when you can literally take any class into them and clear delve 8 solo in 10 mins because they scale poorly.
They think the introduction to the expansion is balanced in any way. They think versatility stat is a good stat for pve…

Oh them… I mean, I have seen their posts and know their kind…

i last played retail in wotlk, aye. and when i did i was a top raider. but i spent YEARS playing on unofficial servers. you have no idea what i know about this game. suffice to say, people like you are why i play solo.

You spent years playing on hacked servers with custom stats and broken algorithms.

Go back. Or stay in classic.

Everything you " know" is wrong because its fake. You played on custom versions that favored the devs favorite classes or literally allowed you to make your own class.

or even better, ignore someone absolutely not worth listening to.

I disagree. People complain about anything and everything. Blizzard doesn’t make changes because they have decided to cherry pick opinions you don’t like. They make changes for their own reasons, which may or may not have to do with anything that has been expressed by forum posters.

According to the devs themselves, player feedback is their biggest consideration when balancing classes and content.

Seems to be a pretty common theme nowadays. Rather than asking for their own preferred classes to be made more fun, they simply cry until the devs take fun away from people whose classes actually had it.

You’re not wrong, but there are definitely times when bringing others in a role up to the outlier’s level would be better for the health of the game. This is - was - one of those times.

The tank shortage is only going to get worse from here on out. It’s not getting reversed til they let tanks have fun again.

Basically. They’d need to literally rework m+ and tank specs from the ground up though.

Right now its easier to nerf the 1 god tier than it is to rebalance the entire game or rework every tank spec. Probably because they already plan to rework the entirety of the game next december with a new expansion, and in a very short period of time when they end season 1 they will be changing m+.

For now, I think even giving the tanks some positive numbers tuning would help. It’s not a permanent solution, but letting them have some of their former damage, healing, and mitigation back would make a world of difference. Class reworks can come later, maybe season 3 (since season 2 is probably far too far into development to start doing that now).

M+ reworks, yeah, I’d say you’re right. Doubtful they’ll do anything too over the top there until the next expansion. At least it sounds like they’re going to tweak the learning curve a bit, and potentially the loot at lower key levels.

Could just reduce all incoming pve damage by 25% for tanks. Would make balancing their damage and utility easier.
For warrior, damage output is increased by reducing incoming damage numbers, thus allowing for talent points to be spent differently and rage to be spent on damage moves instead of spamming ignore pain.
