In world/delve content, you cannot use vanish rotationally. It resets the mobs.
Rotations are dependent on the type of content, and build choices. You can CHOOSE to not take crackshot even though it REALLY hurts outlaws DPS to not take it. Same with subterfuge, it hurts your DPS more than choosing to not spec lone wolf but it’s an option.

I do, which is why I know vanish resets the mobs. It makes it feel really bad especially in the wave part of delve stories.
But you seem to be ignoring that this is mob-dependent.
Online builds still suggest investing in vanish.

This isn’t an oversight. Outlaw has a lot of upfront burst.
Wave setups work fine for Outlaw. They do not suffer for this, so long as you’re using vanish and subterfuge.
‘suggested’ cookie cutter builds, yes. Not everyone plays them, which is the point.
and I dunno about mob-dependant, any time I’ve used it, aggro/combat drop.
Didn’t for me, maybe because I only did delves early on it could’ve been bugged because most of the mobs would try to reset with 1 left attacking brann or straight disappear. World content, for sure everything just resets still.
If the mob has anything else on its threat table, it will not (or, at least, should not) reset. This includes Brann, for example.
Even 100 item levels below where I should have been, my Outlaw still bursted 90% of world content that was soloable before I’d need to use Vanish. Thankfully there really isn’t an opportunity cost for the build in having it for times I can’t burst.

Its literally in the damn blue post, that they were trying to solve the issue of people being “frustrated” by summoning a pet, to use its ability. Only M+ players are whining for that, and some raiders who for some dumb reason, didn’t brought a lust class with then.

It’s been a million years since I played rogue. Do enemies evade and drop combat if you vanish while they are stunned, gouged or blinded? Honestly can’t remember.
Make MM feel great again… make it the only hunter spec that needs to buy ammo to replace them losing pets.

And that was way before we had the laundry list of utility we have now.
Yet why do people use a pet in pvp… oh right, utility which you don’t get without the pet. Now its relevant and you are still wrong.

I would not call Quiver ignorant, but like so many, they fail to see that some of us take the stance of “better to have and not need then need and not have”. In my normal play style I might not “need” the CC abilities of Binding shot, tar trap, etc but I still take them for as much content as I can so I have them to use if things go south in ways I might not have expected.
Do I “need” a pet? likely not, it will just be a period of adjustment to figure out how to handle going pet less in solo content, depending on the tools Blizzard is giving me. Do I “want” the ability to call a pet to use as a tool, just like I would use tar trap, binding shot, etc? yes
