I don’t think blizzard cares about any of our opinions.
If they’re reading this……stop spoiling hunters and paladins. Make rogues great again!

Yeah. They do care about the player opinions. They’re only making this garbage change because they listened to the Hunter Discord. And are now finding out the hard way again that the class discords don’t represent most players.
Uhh, no.
The pet’s purpose is using a macro to cast Misdirection on it and set off people’s chat spam add-ons in group content.
This is exactly how I play the class. I am MM/LW 90% of the time and when I need a tank I don’t call my pet, I swap to BM because it is MUCH more effective as a pet handler, while it only gimps the MM spec.
Yeah, take paladins away from the horde and return them to glory of the alliance only
HUNTER is a pet class
marksman is a spec
the pet is part of the class.
Tired of specs destroying class identity
Except they aren’t. Something I and many others who object to this change have said a lot since the patch notes were released is that we would prefer if they actually were committing to it being petless. But they aren’t doing that. They’re tacking on this eagle that is irrelevant to us, has no significance for most of the races, and clashes with the aesthetics of both hero specs. Yes I would rather keep the choice of pet or petless (i have many hunters and play both at different times), but one thing I definitely don’t want is mandatory random animal. We get enough of that in the hero trees.
Something someone suggested here the other day that resonated a bit with me is that the eagle could be thought of as an embodiment of our hunter spirit. Even a hallucination. Which is a concept I could get into. But that would still sit better if they at least made it an animal relevant to each race. Maybe even change its appearance to be more appropriate for your chosen hero tree. It needs more effort than just an eagle.
I imagine it’s more for the Roar of Sac and MS/Freedom
They don’t care about “class fantasy”. If they did they wouldn’t alter a spec so drastically in the middle of an expansion, against substantial opposition. It’s all a spreadsheet game to them. They couldn’t care less about a player’s class fantasy.
That is like saying void walker has no purpose in destro or affliction spec. Just stop with nonsense, blizzard is reworking mm and removing pets because they want to and that is it.
Hunters will have to start feeding pets to keep them happy cause class fantasy. But we’re still not going to have quivers returned to a majority of existing bows cause hunters can magically summon arrows cause class fantasy.
It sounds like there will be some customization for it in the future. I also would prefer NO pet at all, but if it’s not really a pet and more like sentinel/murder of crows I can live with it, especially since it’s a just starting point.
Imagine getting upset 5 expansions later about hunters losing their pets.
Lone Wolf was added in Warlords of Draenor.
That means WoD happened, Legion happened, BFA happened, Shadowlands happened, Dragonflight happened, now we’re in TWW… and that’s where you decided to take a stand, is TWW? That’s like 10 years. What’s the point?
Thank you.
They said so themselves. Why should a hunter discord have more say than the rest of people who play hunters?
Fury Warriors losing SMF maybe?
They are pulling off that whole Ohn’ahra thing that was relevent to hunters in Legion and Dragonflight.
MM losing pets, what’s next?
evidently BM getting pet specs back…though at this point I doubt its a big deal. Feels like they nerfed ferocity or something a bit back. Just feels different now so if thats the case I’ll just swap to the speed bonus instead on every pet.
Im confused. Isnt Lone Wolf during that time just a talent or something?
I thought MM had pets all this time until an upcoming patch?
Yea, but they could have been upset about it 10 years ago when Blizzard implemented petless hunters. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t always optional for MM. I think they had it baked into their toolkit before it became a talent choice. Meaning they could play with a pet, but they would lose the damage bonus from Lone Wolf.
I didnt know that. I only run MM here and there, not even every expansion since Ive played, I just assumed the pet was always there if needed by MM.
honestly, I never liked Lone Wolf when I did use it. Felt like I was giving up more DPS by running petless. Not sure about the actual numbers, but felt like it was. Could have just been playing the spec wrong, I spose.
