MIssing Races - Ogres and Dryads

Just an opinion, but I think it is time Blizz introduced Ogres and Dryads to WoW as playable races. Out of all the original classes in Warcraft II and Warcraft III those are the only 2 missing as playable characters. Just a thought but please put them in game!!!

I think Blizzard is holding off on adding new races until all current races (excluding Dracthyr) have access to all classes (excluding Evoker).

I’m a simple Dorf. I see people post about playable ogres, I click like.

Dryads aren’t feasible.

Dryads will never be playable due to being half horse.

Visage forms? hello!

and they’re stags/fawns thank you! :expressionless:

Dryads have never had Visages. That’s something only the dragonkin can do.

they can add it to dryads for sure. they’re half night elf - so something like “assume night elf aspect” would work.

boom done!

let’s use some imagination people…you should be able to play as any allied race in WoW

I would love to see Ogres come to the game, at last! When TBC was teased 234987234 years ago as a wee one, I genuinely thought Ogres would be the Horde reveal. Of all races not playable, that one is surprising to me given its historical ties in the game.

I’d be okay with never wearing pants again if I was going to be a cute dryad! Draenei and Tauren already have hoof armor models, too.

I don’t see Blizzard doing that. It would be way too much work overall.

Four legged playable races are too complicated to implement. And certainly don’t want to be one now with new weird creepy faces. :slightly_frowning_face:

Races with more or less than two legs, e.g. dryads, naga, centaur, tol’vir, nerubians, etc., aren’t on the table because the game is designed around you playing as races with that exact amount. I wish it wasn’t so, but it is when those races are inherently locked out of the basic functions of sitting in a chair or on a mount.

Games from 20+ years ago shouldn’t dictate this one’s future and I’m tired of the idea that everything else from the former needs to make its way here.

Mostly Ogres in General that hasn’t been playable for decades now.

there are workarounds for that…it’s not 2005 anymore.

can and SHOULD be done. You can play as a dryad literally right now…all they’d need to do is add a kit to it.

Ogres are already in game as kul’tirans

I think an issue with adding faction-locked races again is, like, what is there for Alliance?

With cosmetics, we got High Elves, Dwarves, Dark Iron, uh… the robot gnomes no one asked for that not even their busted racials enticed enough people to play…

Who joins the Alliance without also being like ‘The Horde has good people too’?

Neutral races with choice-based factions are the future, which also means ogres will probably never happen and that’s a shame.

Isn’t there a faction of Ogres directly allied with the Horde in Dustwallow Marsh?

I’m not sure Allies have any ogre allies!

Plus these are all made up “rules”. They can add literally anything…we are going to have Gnome Warlocks and Goblin Druids…all are possibilities.

I think the idea of releasing more standalone classes like Evoker are the future - especially since the Support role seems to be well accepted.
