Ogres were considered but got beaten by goblins due to goblins being something new (IE: A small Horde race). Also allegedly issues with not being able to get a good female ogre model going?

Dryads/Keepers may be a bit more hard given the whole, four legs thing. Every playable race in WoW is able to mount and is bipedal, but Dryads kind of, aren’t. Which is a pity as them and centaur would be neat
I don’t want dryads, and don’t think they’re reasonable. Ogres of some subspecies could probably use kul’tiran skeleton though…

More than that, Ogres have been allies of the Horde since OG Gul’daniel and his wacky friends first came to Azeroth, and you’re right! There are no Alliance Ogres at all!
But assuming the Horde gets Ogres, what will the Alliance get? You can’t add a race to one side without the other getting something too, which was the point.
As Ogres are a staunchly Horde race, I’m struggling to figure out what the Alliance would get. I suppose they could (finally) get the Jinyu or broken or something.
If a race needs a workaround to be playable because its body type isn’t fully supported, that’s a sign that making it playable would be more trouble than it would be worth.
Give dryads a bipedal form, that would defeat the purpose of them being dryads in the first place, would make them (even more of) a different flavor of night elves, and would likely involve shoehorning new lore into them just to make them work.
Give naga a night elf form, they run into the same problems and are now basically sea worgen, except that all worgen being able to shift into their human forms is supported in the story and glamour magic is not an ability that every naga is shown to possess. Plus, if recent threads about worgen and dracthyr are anything to go by, there would inevitably be threads asking for the night elf form to be usable in combat because people want to play a night elf and a naga at the same time.

i really hate the excuses and arbitrary limitations players force on WoW and MMO’s in general…who says it has to be that way? this game seriously needs to be innovated or it’ll just be a corpse at the end of the day.
Anyway, I’ve literally run around as a dryad, casting spells and such, and it feels fine. Can be done, like i pointed out above…the bi-pedal thing would only be used for flavor, and useage of Mounts. Some races already use this dynamic.

Make the dryads, tree nymphs, or sprites with just two legs. Call them what you want. Also, they be alliance.
