Make a Worget with the same name instead.
Agreed.
Generally it’s a hello, gg, ty, and want to que again? Sometimes someone will break the ice and there’ll be a bit of conversation until the next dungeon pops if requing with a healer or tank. No need to talk really in such quick content outside of a polite greeting or farewell.
I cannot talk/type/read chat and heal/fight at the same time. I am happy to talk after a dungeon.
I suppose so, I have no problem typing while playing especially with this games autorun or click to move. Though the dungeons I’ve been doing generally don’t require a ton of focus.
I’m pretty good at multitasking, but even I have my limits.
I actually ran a TW last night, finished up, queued again and the same ret Pally was in my new group. I felt like I had hit the lotto with how rare it to have the same player in a different group.
I ran a similar experiment some time ago across a bunch of timewalking dungeons. It was overall mostly quiet but occasionally got some chatty folks who were pretty nice. But yeah the content is so fast and sometimes I’d go in and just feel like I didn’t want to talk, even though I was the one doing the experiment. When there isn’t an incentive to be social, people will just focus on their objective. You really have to fish for that interaction.
If someone types in chat, I try to respond but I’m not looking for conversation in random dungeons. I’m probably on discord, or in guild chat, or chatting with my kid who likes to watch me play.
When the game first launched you pretty much had to be social to an extent to actually progress after max level. The devs catered to some players who would liked to solo most stuff. Today you really don’t need a guild to get good gear.
Out of the 100+ runs I’ve done in M+ this season there’s been maybe 10 groups that were actively social. 10% isn’t so bad.
Except that 100+ is probably more like 200+. Dunno. Definitely not many folks talking in there.
I’m not exactly there to make friends myself (I am ) but man does is suck when you try to communicate and they don’t. Happens way more often than folks talking. Way way more often.
Most folks doing brainless content like TW are either watching 2nd monitor content, in discord with our friends, listening to podcasts etc. The days of MMO as chatroom are long gone except for the Classic boomers andies who long for 2004. Adjust your expectations accordingly.
Didn’t used to be that way to such an extreme degree.
I know it is now. It’s that was across all of gaming in general tbh unless it’s a game specifically for being social (VR Chat, etc). Sucks though.
Not with that attitude you won’t. My friends list is filled with people I met in 5 minute battlegrounds or 5 minute dungeons.
One of them I went to their wedding last year. I met her when we were 14 and now she’s grown and has a kid. The other I’ve flown out and seen multiple times and now we play mario kart every night together.
That 5 minutes has turned into a lifetime of friendship, all because of us made the effort to talk.
People will usually say hello in M+ especially if you say so first, and there will often be communication if necessary. In TW, normals, and heroics, people are just there for their rewards and the content is over very quickly so there’s not much of a point chatting.
Even in FF14, which has a better community than WoW, the most you’ll get is a hello at the start of a duty.
Given how people are with kicks these days, can you blame them? Instances move way too fast for socialization these days. If you want socialization, the game needs to be slowed back down to needing to drink after every pull.
i blame newspapers and the steam engine!
That ford guy is ruining walking
Would absolutely vote kick for this.
I would have votekicked you immediately for slowing down my dungeon grind.
