Mini-expirement - People DONT talk

Kind of makes me want to resub and play a Dwarf named NotaNightElf in Classic

Typical classic player, nothing but casuals

Really lacking the competitive racism retail players have

I’ve seen vote kicks pass for talks a lot.

I don’t talk in dungeons because most of time someone says something the key ends up bricked. Keep quiet and say GG at the end.

It’s a timewalking dungeon I run boss to boss and we kill everything along the way

There’s no time to talk regardless of pull size as there’s little to no downtime

people dont talk because it serves no real purpose. they wont ever see you again, and their only purpose is to get their goodies then peace out. this is how its always been, it didnt become antisocial, its just people had an incentive to force themselves to be social. once you remove the incentive, people become who they are naturally.

I don’t usually look at my chat during queued dungeons, possibly a personal failing. There was one time someone got super mad at me cause he was asking for a cape and I was ignoring him on accident, decided to go meet up to give it to him cause I felt bad, he was upset

Same. “Hello” at the beginning and “Requeue?” at the end is about all the chatting I do in instances with randoms in Timewalking. Everyone there just wants to get in and get it done and requeue for next one. Only chatting I’ve seen in Timewalking the past 2 weeks had to do with where to go if the tank isn’t familiar with the dungeon and it wasn’t obvious.

I used to send a /thank at the end of dungeons, but most people would leave group faster than I could type it. I stopped trying.

Im here to play the game not make friends.

By the time I typed “Thanks all!” in chat after we did 5 Timewalking with more or less the same group, I was leader and all by myself. LOL

This is the best explanation.

I’m playing HC at the same time as retail and sure as hell if people could do the elite stuff solo they mostly would.

People are nice and talkative there because it can lead you to being 10% more intelligent or have 20-30% more HP.

Doing legacy achievements on retail and on some achievement discord suddenly everyone is nice again. Well yeah cause people aren’t gonna go unlock some legacy achievement/quests for nothing.

I mean, if people want to be social while speeding through Timewalking dungeons, that’s fine. I might even join in. Most are there to get their 5 out of the way or to level, so talking just isn’t something they are concerned about.

I’m a little uneasy when my teammates try to talk to me.

Then again, I only run follower dungeons so I think it’s a fair reaction.

I enjoy chatting, though sometimes it seems to irritate people. I don’t know why they’re playing group content and not wanting to chat.

I swear I think half the people that play this game would be better off with a single player game lol.

To be fair, when everyone is constantly on the move like they usually are in TW, there’s not much time to stop and have a chat. Heck, it’s all I can do to keep up with the group sometimes (mainly the tank). I’m not opposed to chatting with my party members though.

I can’t type and play at the same time, but I did macro /thank.

Yup. I have my house hovering over “leave group” button so the moment the last boss dies I’m out.
