Microsoft Lays Off 1900

To be fair, they canned Titan and then gave us Overwatch 1. Something else could come from whatever they had developed for Odyssey.

Just remember with all of the :poop: posting that 1900 people don’t have a paycheck rolling in next week. Regardless on how you feel about the company or the direction of the game, those people will be effected by this on a personal level.

For those 1900, the sky may indeed be falling.

Hah Ironic… the survival team didn’t survive…

Exactly.

A good manager will be using metrics and tools to track what people are doing, even while in the office.

The only way a person gets away with slacking off WFH is if the manager wasn’t using those tools in the first place.

Yeah… it broke my heart to see that. I’m honestly depressed right now. All of those people… and their ideas and dream… :pensive:

But they moved part or half of the Titan team and reimagined it. This was straight up the entire team wiped out and game gone. :frowning:

“Microsoft will save us!” - People on this forum circa 2023.

nah it was expected likely removing redundancy.

The team may be gone, but everything they did for the game up until now is still there. It could just as easily be reimagined into something else.

I’m also curious what these other projects they have in development are, and how long before we start to hear about some of them.

Oh they are saving us

Saving us by making our wallets emptier with micro transactions with “bonus tokens” and $100 early access expansions

Maybe. I just hope they all find a good home with a new company soon.

I’d be more surprised if the team was still here.

That would honestly be a huge red flag and bad sign.

this poor guy… :sleepy:

if warcraft rumble and overwatch 2 were anything to go by i doubt the survival game would’ve been anything special. it would have had that patented blizzard spitshine that makes the game unfun to play

So after buying and merging a few companies they layoff about 8% of the new overall workforce. This is inline with most acquisitions and will not impact much of anything. I’m not saying it doesn’t suck, but it’s par for the course in business. 1900 lost their jobs so 20,000 could keep theirs.

“Blizzard games aren’t fun to play” - says guy currently paying money to play Blizzard games

Who says we don’t use tokens to not give blizzard any money? I know I do.

have you seen this week’s affixes? :face_vomiting:

It’s an economic downturn. All companies are doing it to cut costs, doesn’t have anything to do with Microsoft’s success or future outlook.

Blizzard appreciates you doing an activity you find unfun, but in a way that actually makes them even more money.

I’m sure with all my bot talk on social.

I cost them more then I make them.

Pretty easy week tbh. Sanguine can be a little annoying in like…Waycrest.
