I like bands like The who Tom Petty the eaglesnever was very much into metal I do like some ACDC also like some music by Slade and thin Lizzy I like all kinds of music but those are some of my favorites.
Thatâs the first time Iâve heard of Spiritbox and that is friggin awesome.
I was wondering, HOW do you guys listen to your music? I grew up buying tapes and CDâs, and then ripping them to my computer. But I honestly just stopped listening to new music other than whatâs on Sirius radio because I just donât even know where to look for it and how to get it.
I pay for spotify and they suggest bands and music based on your music taste and playlists. They have a whole discover tab. I usually like to listen to music while I play WoW or overwatch. Sometimes I will crank a new album while I play/grind some raids for mounts.
Going to concerts can also expose you to new bands.
Following some bands on youtube is also a good way to show you some bands with similar music.
And there are social groups for music lovers like this thread that you can check out for music suggestions!
Also if you download Shazam you can find out songs you like while out in public or friends while you have your phone and add them to your playlist.
Hey thanks! In the past, I could load up all my CDâs into a giant CD changer and just hit random to listen to my music for hours. Then I had thousands of songs on my computer that I would just play on random.
So with everything being streaming now, how can I just listen to the songs that I know and like in a random order?
Band: Rogue Male
Album: First Visit
Song Highlights: All Over You , Crazy Motorcycle , Dressed Incognito
Dont hate me for the $1.50 you will find yourself spending on this album.
If you have a spotify account you can do that (if you donât mind paying). There are other apps like Pandora or itunes. But I just prefer Spotify. You just pick the songs and bands you like. Make a playlist. I tend to do a master playlist then make specific ones for a certain mood like gaming/ pop/ etc.
Then you just hit shuffle.
Spotify has other tabs like discover where you can find music. You may search for playlists as well to find other peopleâs music. You may do this with stuff like youtube as well, but if you really love music a music app would be great for you.
You can also find nearby concerts with Spotify to support your favorite artists, you can check which bands you follow are nearby and any concert dates.
They also have radios and playlists there if you are new to music or just want to try out a new genre of music.
Also if you donât want to pay you can look up some youtube playlists and shuffle music. If you donât mind ads. (I hate them when listening to music personally)
i have Pandora and use spotify and youtube
on pandora, you can create a station and seed it with bands you already know, then it picks other bands that are a bit similar
i have about 27 different stations that range from pure devil music to what i call popcore (pop rock with breakdowns and some harsh vocals) to electronic apocalypse music to metalcore to european bands⊠basically just about anything you want is on there
for that I use bandsintown app
i also love going to festivals, always some nice bands to discover on side stages earlier in the day.
I had that app too but it became annoying with covid : / not being able to go out.
i hear ya⊠my wife and i miss concerts so much
yesterday would have been Rammstein. we were so bummed
Thanks for the tips. Itâs so strange that even downloading music is old school. I hate streaming everything, itâs like my whole life is dependent on the internet.
Oh I still buy cds and started buying vinyls from my favorite bands. But like it would get expensive to have so much music⊠so I just decided to pay a subscription and buy merch if I really like the band. Some apps like spotify allow you to save the music on your phone or computer too! In case you donât want to stream. Itâs a nice option for areas with no signal or low signal. And if you have bluetooth speakers in your car.

World of warcraft songs are also in spotify btw.
Pretty much have every album I own on cd. I used to work at a book/music store and got an insane discount. On the plus side I was in heaven with so many books and CDs. The bad part is I reinvested my paycheck every 2 weeks on books and music lol
I canât stand not having my music on cds reallyâŠI can always upload the album to an ipod or something, but streaming is bleh to me. Too many times there is no internet for me and why change my medium?
