Metalheads In Wow

I don’t really think powerwolf is making fun of Christianity. They just came up with a good story to justify their love of organ music in metal. They are priests who have contracted lycanthrope and now eternally struggle to remain holy while fighting the urge to kill everyone around them.

Occasionally they unleash that rage against the enemies of the church.

Edit: they should tour Canada so I can see them live.

Do you like Ulver? Theres a funny story behind their 3rd album. They werent black metal sounding enough so when they were signed to century media they blew the advance on suits and a car and recorded the album for dirt cheap in the woods. Album sounds terrible. I can barely listen to it and i LOVE Ulver.

Ulver’s musical journey has been one of the coolest things to witness, honestly. Not everyone can go from black metal to synthpop and still maintain that high quality of musicianship.

While we’re on the subject of black metal, I noticed a distinct lack of Drudkh in this thread.

Yeah Ulver truly are in a league their own. Its like they paint with sound.
You reminded me to check for a new release and one just came out at the end of august. very nice.

Yeah pretty much the same with me. I’m 51 and still love metal and rock. I don’t really listen to Death Metal or Black Metal , I am more into bands like THC and Sons of Texas anymore. I’ll occasionally listen to older music but there is a lot of great new music that I like to listen to now instead.

Always enjoyed Doro/Warlock, Lacuna Coil and other such bands playing in the background while I’m solo’ing stuff.

Big fan of the new Orbit Culture album…kind of a meshuggah meets Metallica vibe with some gojira thrown in.

Also found a band called Bleed from within that put out a pretty stellar album recently.
