At the very least, the clan you choose lets you display its banner as a toy.
I was hoping this thread would be bumped up to the top by other orc players that picked Dragonmaw
As mentioned, you can get a toy that will let you wear a clan banner of your choice from the Orc heritage questline.
You can apparently change the banner, so you arenāt locked into one clanā¦at least on the character that does the Orc heritage questline. A comment on Wowhead mentions a generic Orc banner appearing on other Orc characters using the item. Maybe you need to go to the NPC to change it. Hopefully you can do that on other Orc characters, since itād be a silly restriction otherwise in my opinion.
Speaking of, said NPC to change your clan banner is in Razor Hill in the Barracks building:
Dragonmaw banner and related Wowhead articles below:
Not sure if it disappears in combat, but it would definitely go well with playable Dragonmaw Orcs if that ever becomes a thing!
10 minute duration, 10 minute CD. Defaults to a generic Horde banner if used on an alt that hasnāt done the quest.
Took my Orc Mage through the Orc heritage questline and went with the Dragonmaw Clan to show some support for them. Not the best transmog color scheme to have with the banner, but still wanted to stand with them.
Ok but only if the orcs go to the alliance and the dwarfs go to the horde. I bet a chat bot could create a story justifying it in a jiffy.
If we can send you back to the Alliance along with themā¦ Iāll consider it.
We donāt claim him, we want actual High Elves.
Also, I donāt want the Dragonmaw on Alliance, I want Wildhammer. The time for Horde Dwarves and Alliance Horde race was with Dark Iron and probably HMT. (Although HMT and Nightborne shoulda been neutral since both sides help them. I guess that means Mechagnomes too, but I know yall donāt want the diapergnomes.)
Nice. Honestly, Iād love to see the stats on who picked what. I would assume that Frostwolf and Dragonmaw would rank highly just based on name recognition alone. Probably followed by Warsong.
Completely facetious, of course.
Now we know the Dragonmaw orcs left are still a part of the Horde, we could get them as a allied race or at least as customization for regular orcs.
We had an overt confirmation that they were still in the Horde post-Garrosh in Legion with the PvP appearance ceremony and an implied confirmation in BfA with resettlement of the Magāhar in the Twilight Highlands. BfA was the first expansion without a direct reference to the Dragonmaw Clan, and Shadowlands the first without even an implied reference. Theyāve always been on the minds of the developers.
An Allied Race is the ideal outcome. A customization would be better than nothing, but Iād willingly hold out if it meant the possibility of an Allied Race.
Blizzards lazy. Even the dragons we just got are a reskin. If that doesnāt show how lazy they are then nothing ever will. I honestly wish that theyād open up the allied races to just let us create them. I got the lightforged Drainei and the Void elves because I wanted to create some characters with them but after those two I just said it wasnāt worth doing these totally drawn out quests for every race. Iād love to make a horde race of those little furry guys, Vulpira (I think I spelled it right) but I donāt have a high level horde character to jump over and unlock it. So it stops me from trying it. The new dwarven race is pretty cool but not enough for me to unlock it for a simple reskin and different racial traits.
Really think Blizzard should just open them all now. Before adding more. If they did Iād think youād see the race selection really diversified. Right now Blood Elf is the most popular horde character and they got added as an expansion class so I think blizzard should really think about it.
But yeah, Iād like to see both in game as playable races because I do Role Play with my character. I like my lore and I even try speaking in chat a certain way, but now itās broken in voice chat but Iām an old school DND player so and then EQ on launch and played on RP servers.
So be lazy. Reskin more Orcs. More Dwarves. Hell, more Elves. These are all relatively low investment additions that will garner more good faith with the existing playerbase than whatever new creation they could possibly devise and labour to implement.
Iāve not heard of this. Where does this come from? Very interested to check that out.
Vulpera unlock quest. You help the Vulpera to help various inner factions of the Horde. One part has you settling a labour dispute that arises in the Twilight Highlands as the Magāhar are established there, the implication being that the Dragonmaw Clan approved this effort (perhaps in light of much of their number being in the wrong side of history).
As I wrote it in the MokāNathal thread, the Orc Heritage armor quest is full of interesting details. Now we can speak about the Dragonmaw Orcs and their place in the Horde.
They regret what they did to the dragons and with Hellscream. Now they want a new future. Thrall gave them an invitation to participate to this Koshāharg.
Gorfax Angerfang (chief of the Dragonmaw Orcs) says: āThe Dragonmaw have had many disagreements with Thrall in the past. I hope this Koshāharg will do much to unite us again.ā
Gregor says: āI do hope the Dragonmaw can find a true place within the Horde after all these years. There has been more than enough strife between the orcs. May it finally be done.ā
Now they are really a part of the Horde (even if they are since Cataclysm), I hope we could get them as customization for the regular Orcs.
It is an excellent jumping off point for a myriad Orc storylines. The Dragonmaw Clan, specifically, seems to have received just a little more attention than most, howeverā¦
