why?
moknathal model is ogre model, you just need to put horns
and you are looking just about model, and not everything else, people dislike asspull races, and that would exactly what would be an moknathal.
im not hating then, just don’t want then added to rob the ogre spot, and for that isn’t rly good see people wanting then on the ogre thread

Okay first off these people trying to derail the thread to be about Mok’Nathal are almost as obnoxious as the high elf fanbase. Stop trying to hijack the thread and go make a Mok’Nathal thread. This is an OGRE Thread NOT a Mok’Nathal thread.

So awhile ago, there was an interview with Ion about Shadowlands, and there was a mention of allied races during the expansion:
“The team is open to more Allied Races, but there are no plans for any in Shadowlands.”
Take from here:
Honestly, given the nature of the expansion, I’m not that surprised that there are no current plans for allied races during Shadowlands, given the nature of the expansion. It is disappointing that we went through another big Horde/Alliance war and the Horde again forgets they have Ogres within their ranks they could utilize. I’m sure the same thing will occur during Shadowlands. Hopefully whatever threatens the world (of Warcraft!) again after Shadowlands may yield some Horde Ogre activity, but regardless, it looks like we have about two more years of waiting. Then again, I’ve waited since Burning Crusade for playable horde Ogres, so whats another two or so years?
If anything, we did get that revamped character creation screen with new room for more races:
What is interesting to note is that allied and core races are now combined on the same screen instead of being on separate screens. It makes me wonder if all races there are now just “playable races” instead of being defined as core or allied. Regardless, I feel that Ogres can fill in for either and would generate some hype if they headlined an expansion announcement as being a playable Horde race.
At any rate, the march for Ogre support goes on, and I’ll continue to support them as best as I can. With all that space on the character creation screen, surely there is plenty of room for Ogres to be somewhere on the Horde side of that screen.
As always, dream big, Ogre fans!

To be fair, at least they’re sticking to one thread instead of spamming new threads all the time.
Bump
i wish for ogres every year and I’m disappointed ever since WC2 ogres have been my favorite!!!

Huge bump. I love Ogres, always have, and I’m disappointed that we didn’t get them yet. I would reroll in an instant.
Sad thing is, I don’t think we’ll ever get 'em.

As I said in regards to the San’layn/Darkfallen; Always in support of more playable races be they Core or Allied.
Ogres are also easily one of my top picks as well, so that is a double

Blizzard, please, I NEED my Ogres. As much as I love Orcs, they’re one of my favorite races in Warcraft, I would reroll an Ogre in an instant. Darn, I’d be willing to shell out like 15 bucks just to get the race. I don’t care how, I just need it.

Every time a new expansion is announced, I always hope during the reveal trailer that Ogres would be revealed as a playable Horde race. I know that if they ever make them playable, I’d be extremely excited about it.
I’m keeping an eye out on Shadowlands stuff to see if there is any Horde Ogre activity, but given the nature of the expansion, I suspect the only Ogre activity in general may be just dead Ogres. Still, I’ll be sure to report anything I see involving Horde Ogres. So far, all I’ve seen is the enemy Ogre clan (The Darkmaul Clan, not affiliated with the Horde from my understanding) in the new starting area, which I assume Horde also goes through with the same setting and enemies.

I was SO disappointed with Vulpera announcement… random foxes over well established lore race with an interesting history and currently in the horde. However vulpera are cooler then i thought, still meh though at best

Ogre Blood Mages were my favorite in WC II (the RTS I played the most). I think all their spells are in the game, but not Ogres. I used to love listening to the two heads arguing…
And the excuses from Blizz: they wouldn’t fit through doors, we don’t know how to make female Ogres…come on. After Kul Tirans, with Tauren being (as far as I know from lore) around the same height as some races of Ogres, how are they still not a thing?
Ogri’la happened back in BC. Their intellect and exposure to some crystal made them smaller and smarter (we earned rep with them). The lore for an Ogre playable race was established over a decade ago.

Vulpera were actually one of my most wanted allied races. I was very happy when they got to officially become playable.
Really, the most disappointing thing to me, something I’ve grumbled about multiple times throughout the megathread, is the lack of Horde Ogres of any sort during another big war against the Alliance even among NPC’s. The Stonemaul Clan owe a lot to the Horde, and as far as I’m aware, they don’t show up at all among the various Horde armies. Yet, the Horde seeks out a debt with AU Orcs instead, and again to be clear, I’m happy we got Mag’har Orcs, but it seems weird they would consider that debt and not call on the debt of the Stonemaul Ogres. It also makes me wonder if the Stonemaul even bothered to reclaim their home or have done anything with Dire Maul.
We also haven’t seen Megs Dreadshredder and the Dunemaul, so she is probably using them for her own agenda. The Gorian Ogres that came with the Mag’Har just disappeared. They’re not even part of group of creatures and denizens the Mag’Har Orcs use in some areas.
I’ve harped on this a lot, and I’m sure I’ll continue to several more times, but it is a disappointment to not see much done with the Horde Ogres in general. Just having a few Ogre grunts standing around in some of the Horde outposts would’ve at least been good to know they haven’t been forgotten by the Horde and Blizzard.
As I said before, I don’t expect them to be the main heroes of the story, but to see some Horde Ogre presence would be refreshing. Call me determined or insane, but I still hope that with Ogres having been considered for playable race status before, we’ll see playable Horde Ogres in the future.

I would love for Horde to get Ogres! A Rexxar like half breed would also be cool, but yes! Fully support this idea!

Good to see this thread is still around! Keep it up guys, we’ll get Ogres sooner or later! And then I can finally use the name I’ve kept saved in my own brain for my first Ogre character \o/

Wow. Excellent thread. Very well put out and detailed. I definitely think they should be in there too, they are and were a key horde race.

I feel it worth noting. Ogres and Sea giants have both canonically joined the horde, but neither are playable.

Howdy Gnomest, fancy seeing you here. I used to post a lot in the Mechagnome Love Thread under the name Fouille until I watched the Garrosh tribute on YouTube for the millionth time and returned to my good ol’ Mag’har.

Ah, I wondered where Fouille went! This is Coaxial here. Nice to find your passion in a race.
Don’t be afraid to stop in to the love thread and show some support even as an orc.
Also Ogres for the Horde!

Nice to see you again! Part of the reason that thread has been inactive lately is because fezzy has been on vacation. It will probably see more actively now that he is back.
FYI: All of the unshackled, ogres and seagiants should be playable.

the ogres are pissed off at the horde for ignoring them since BC. they join the alliance as an act of revolt, and disdain towards the horde.
the alliance should get ogres just for having fat humans, and diaper gnomes foisted on them.
