Megathread: Ogres as Playable Allied race

But friend that would actually require them to put in some effort.

Why not have a copypasta with a different brand new colour of hair and release it as a “Allied Race” instead?

Cost cuttings yo!

Ogres are my number 2 wanted playable race. Naga being first. That being said. I say yes, OP.

After playable fox people, snake people, llama people, 5 new elven races, hawk people, old dented tin cans, undead dwarves, fat gnomes, and laser eels then MAYBE we can look at making Ogres playable.

Allied Races have way less customisation then every normal race…

That’s one thing that annoys me, poor customisation on all the Allied Races.

Hmm… I never knew I wanted this.

They should hire on a couple artists whose sole job is extra customization =D

Exactly, ogres don’t really fit the criteria to be an allied race (a variant of a race that one faction already has, modified to be unique) and if they were added to the game would function like a pre-BfA race, but with how easy it is to pump out allied races, I’m not sure if they’ll ever add another core race. Not that I’m opposed to ogres as an idea, if anything they should be in the Horde already.

They’ve said they plan to use the Allied Race System going forward, but there’s no reason they can’t drop the rep requirement.

I quite like the scenario/quest chains though, so retaining that would be cool.
Perhaps they could let it level scale so it can be performed regardless of what level your main is.

I still enjoy the actual actions of playing a role of bringing the race into the fold, but the rep requirements kinda suck. If they were required, why is friendly not good enough?

The horde needs Ogres and Mok’nathal both. I love Rexxar’s new model, plus they kinda balance out the alliance Kul’tirans.

Then give the Alliance Vrykul to balance out the Ogres.

Blizzard has said that Allied Races don’t need a ‘parent’ race. That’s just what they are going with at the moment.

No. Vrykul are too awesome.

WE NEED OGRES! Carry the flag of rickflairwoo!! He was a heavy advocate for them, been fighting for them since before legion!

The starting zone would be so funny, say if you roll a melee then they’ll train you as a range class vice versa.

Well yeah, that’s why they’d be Alliance.

Omg yes!! I agree with you 1000000%

Ah-herm, lies.

lol, it’s just what makes the most sense.
Ogres + Orcs, then their mix breed, Mok’nathal, for horde.
Vrykul + Humans, then their mix breed, Kul’tiran, for alliance.

No. They’re just not equivalent. Vrykul are like objectively the coolest race in the game. You can have more other humans. For the Horde!

are you sure about that? cause some allied races look like they have many options, like the maghar orcs

Ion said the allied races are not just sub-races or pariental races, allied race is anything they want.

“core race” its something hat prob will not exist anymore, the “allied race” system, come to replace the old one, so, every other “new race” will come like the allied race system

Maghar Orcs are the only ones that have many skin options other then that they are just as dull like the others.
