Megathread: Dracthyr Permanent Visage Form for Evokers

After all, it has never made much sense that dragons are restricted to a single appearance when they have always had the ability to take on whatever form they desire.

What a beautiful sentence. I wish this sunk in with more players.

I dunno man, I feel the lore and story have been free falling for a long time now. At this point is it really going to make anything worse? Logic is out the window with all the class/race combos added. Then the constant retcons of the lore to make them happen among other things.

Maybe I’m jaded with the way WOW’s lore/story have been going… but I just can’t see this mess ever truly being fixed for the better, so at least lets have top tier gameplay.

Again, just my view on it all.

But as it currently stands, I prefer evokers not getting permavisage, and the other classes should either lose access to dracthyr form or be forced into it when using certain abilities.

Players not caring is a whole lot different from Blizzard not caring. Yes, it is.

I don’t think any person advocating for permanent visage has done so with the intent of it being ONLY permanent visage, but rather a toggle to choose from. So with that in mind, you would have nothing to worry about.

permavisage in combat is not desired. And that’s what people want.

It is a whole lot different… both are important. The playerbase not caring about your story telling, should tell them that their story… isn’t very good. You’ll always find someone who likes it, hell there are people who like DA:Veilguard.

I’m also not convinced that blizzard cares.

(Except by all the people that want it, but they don’t count)

Of course it’s having the option to do so. And I don’t want people to have that option.

Yeah this guy is starting to sound a lot like a shaman I met today. Moving on from the bait.

Sorry people believe differently than you?

Smartest thing anyone has said so far!

Oh, the irony.

Yes, if you don’t talk to anyone who disagrees, 100% of people will agree.

The last thing I’ll respond to from you. The fact you don’t want something only because you want other players to not enjoy themselves means you aren’t being serious here. It has nothing to do with hearing other peoples’ opinions or the echo chamber you’re hinting at.

So what? you’ll collect a tally of people for and against? Present it to Blizzard as some type of research?

I don’t want it because it impacts my enjoyment of the game.

I’d like Blizzard to pretend they care about lore, and are just bad at writing stories.

“BUT MUH IMMERSION!”

If someone wanting their own character not to look like a doofy dragon is hurting your enjoyment, you’re just a ridiculous person and no one should take your opinion seriously. What a weird hill to die on.

People can use shifting prisms to look like all sorts of ridiculous things.

Therefore, I say, we cut out the need for it, let people create a character in that image, at start.

Wouldn’t want to impact anyone’s enjoyment now, would we?

It would make more people happy than it would hurt. Simple truth.

I think that’s a destructive mindset, because if you cast away all senses & limitations on an MMORPG that correlate with the story — then honestly, there’s not much difference between it and Fortnite. :person_shrugging: lol

Would it though? that’s the real question.

Neverwinter Nights from 2002 had a custom race option. If anyone used it, it simply used an official race as a template.

WOW could implement a custom model option, with the same result.
