They broke those limitations years ago, when they started with the idiotic race/class combos and lore changes… I used to push for lore, it’s not worth it anymore, blizzard jumbles it around at retcons lore constantly. I’m done fighting it and am now embracing it.

Idk about that. I think WOW would lose part of its charm. And probably have a glorious last “serious” season.
It’s simply stuff characters can already look. And if that was made way easier, I think people would have an issue with how others look.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — Having some bad game to lore correlations doesn’t mean we have to give in ALL the way and remove it entirely …
Otherwise Blizzard may as well remake the game by doing away with lore – Removing the open world, remove the storyline altogether and just have the game be a tonne of BGs, dungeons, delves and raids.

We don’t have to give it all away, just allow the visage form to persist in combat. This isn’t some revolutionary idea or some type of major game changer, the only people it hurts are weirdos who have a gatekeeping obsession. I would like to the play the character and not be disgusted by how it looks.
So why don’t you just play a elf?..

What if someone wanted to play a death knight but just didn’t like all that death or undead stuff?
Create a polar-opposite that has the same abilities with different visuals?

Than they chose the wrong class, classes have a theme and aren’t race locked.
I’m not asking them to provide us with more races, just a persistent visage form… simple problem, simple solution.
Evoker also has a theme.
And your request is contrary to that.

Conjure up some lore, mechagnomes do it all with science instead, voila.
Zero correlation in those two things.
Visage form already exists on every single evoker.
They’re being intentionally obtuse.
All druids can shapeshift, and they can’t use certain abilities if they don’t.
You can indeed conjure up lore, and a race to justify a druid not needing to shapeshift.
Or maybe druids become better and no longer need their animal forms.

You need to conjure up lore to justify evokers not needing to remain in dracthyr form anyway.
And if you want to discard the story element, you can do so with druids too.

But it does.
Evokers use dracthyr form to channel their powers.
Just like how you can suddenly patch druids not needing to shapeshift to use any abilities. We already have precedence for that with convoke.

Being in visage form, doesn’t mean they aren’t Dracthyr anymore.
