Megathread: Dracthyr Permanent Visage Form for Evokers

Your explanation is pure conjecture.

Nothing you said gives me pause in the slightest… they can and WILL eventually make the toggle true, keeping us in visage and out of that disgusting dracthyr form.

Just like they will one day sell gear with power to milk WOW for every scrap of cash they can.

I need the clip from the DBZ abridged with the Bardock is learning of Frieza with the Saiyan extinction and dude just screams, “I CAN SEE THE FUTURE!!!” and then just dies. That’s what people like yourself remind me of.

Doubtful, since it defeats the entire purpose of the class.

I recommend anyone advocating for a full-time visage form to just roll a Mage.

You can pretend it defeats the purpose of the class all you want, doesn’t make it reality.

Mage is very little like Evoker and doesn’t have the healing spec, so when they give us perma visage, you’ll see an increase in evoker players.

but increasing evoker players isn’t the primary objective.

For you may not be, but it will increase the number of evoker players.

Uh the purpose of the class is a dragon class where you’re a “dragon” that can perform dragon-based abilities.

You remove the dragon part, and you have a completely different class, because the majority of Evoker abilities are dependent on the character having the physiology of a dragon.

and that stops them from having perma visage, how?

They can shift in for the move and shift right back out when the move is done. Boom, simple solution, perma visage form.

We’ve been over this. You could remove the dragon theme entirely and still have the functional same class with the same gameplay, but with different names. The fact that it is dragon flavored at all is just the result of an arbitrary decision made by blizzard.

More importantly, slippery slope arguments are still a logical fallacy. You can make all the assumptions you want, but there isn’t the slightest reason to assume any of it.

That’s not a permanent visage form. Perma visage means you’re in visage all the time.

Auto-visage form would probably be a better way to describe it, sure.

100% disagree. Evoker became my main the moment I tried it out in beta. Since then all I wish for is to not see the dracthyr body more than I have to. Whether it’s a more permanent toggle, like for other dracthyr classes we have now (my preference), or making it so we can actually transmog like the rest of players head-to-toe (better than nothing, still ugly imo), Blizzard should give us a choice and allow us more character expression either way.

How is it not? Transforming for the move itself means nothing and most of those move don’t need the dragon form at all… can only really think of 1 during actual combat that would need it and that’s deep breath. Everything else can be in visage form.

If you remove the dragon theme entirely then you don’t have a class. It’s the draconic lore and thematics that ties the entire concept together.

Also it’s not an assumption. Blizzard created the dracthyr class because they needed the character to have the body of a dragon in order for the class to work properly.

You have that currently. It simply auto-changes when you’re out of combat.

What abilities do you think don’t require the dragon form? It’s clearly far less than you believe it is.

Only deep breath should require the quick shift.

So when you perform Rescue or Verdent Embrace your character is just going to fly like Superman?

If you’re so set on defending how the game is now based on theme and lore accuracy, then why are Lightforged Draenei able to be warlocks using fel magic and summoning demons?

That’s racial lore which I could give two poops about. What I’m talking about is the purpose of a class, and the thematics expressed by said class. We have a dragon class based on WoW’s dragons, and that class’ concept relies on the character being a dragon to perform its abilities.
