Masterlooter- my raid, my gear, my rights

Sounds like an employer who takes employees tips and claims them as wages paid to me.

Also you sound like someone I’d never want to work for.

Totally false.

  1. Nearly all places are at will meaning the employee has every bit as much say if they come in or not. At best, you can argue that most people don’t hold that much sway because they work unskilled positions or otherwise have limited options.
  2. Choosing who gets paid? Yeah I double dog DARE you to try and decide someone who worked for you does or does not get their paycheck. Your donkey will be reported so fast and you’ll be paying fines, if you’re lucky for it “just” to be fines, WAY more than what paltry amount you tried to withhold from them.

Just keep personal loot and make the loot rolls based on parses.

Higher performing players get higher rolls on the loot they want!

That way, if the “pug” came and carried this fail guild to victory, they get the loot, not some terrible player who has been wiping on this boss for weeks and needed some pug to come carry them to a successful kill.

I’m betting he gets carried and then called out on being carried. Gets mad, disbands the raid. Punches holes through his mom’s basement drywall and has to use his allowance to patch it up.

No, this is a terrible idea. This would make people ignore mechanics and mongo DPS. There are tons of very useful roles in a raid that involve being the mechanical guinea pig running around soaking that make parses worse. This player might be the best player in the run but their parse will be bad.

If you die to mechanics, you don’t get a good parse.

If you stick to the boss and ignore mechanics and leave it to everyone else you do as well. Bad take.

Masterlooter was awful. It’s great that it will never come back. OP shouldn’t invite pugs to raid if he doesn’t want them to get “his” loot. What an idiot.

Okay, new plan. Blizzard hires “Raid Monitors” who monitor an individual in a raid, like ice skating in the olympics.

At the end of the fight, they hold up “scoring” cards.

The top scoring people get to pick the loot they want first.

I guess people in the big ML thread were sounding to reasonable for OPs taste and they decided to make this.

Or each boss can just drop I dunno, some form of curreny. Maybe they could add a vendor of sorts, so that bad luck doesn’t outweigh earned gear.

Obvious troll is obvious.

1/10 for getting bites though.

If that is the rule set for your guild and people agree with it, that is perfectly fine. Good luck!
Theres no reason for anyone to object to that. If you dont agree with these rules, dont join this particular guild. There will be plenty with loot rules to your liking.

Not necessary since Master Loot won’t be coming back.

A guild is a collective of individuals working collaboratively to achieve goals literally impossible for the individuals to do alone and gear is a tool as much as it is a reward. I’ve 0 problems with groups consenting that gear be arbitrated to go to the most “deserving” person and for that collective to decide on what qualifies that. What I take issue with is when the individuals have 0 options. Back in the day, you had no recourse if your guild screwed you if there weren’t other guilds available to run with. Your option was get screwed or just don’t play.

Today there are more options and guilds naturally hold far less power than they did. I also don’t think it’s reasonable to expect people to get to benefit from the structure and support of a guild while maintaining total anonymity with their stuff. You didn’t earn that loot alone and if the general cosensus is loot is a tool for the group whereas you are in this for yourself, you shouldn’t get to benefit yet still hold your own rules/ideology without their consent.

That’s basically the crux of it…you want them to be willing to give you stuff but withhold the option for them to decide if/when it’s your turn to pass something along. Stick to pugs where that individual > group logic makes sense.

Like I said, I see no reason why open trading with personal loot can’t make all sides happy…and you can’t even argue that greedy solo individual types aren’t already affected because loot trading eligibility rules are already known and people would know if you got something that could or could not be traded already.

with how self entitled the OP is it sounds like it would be terrible to be in that guild lol. I wonder if your raiders and guildies know they apparently had no part in its success lol.

Agreed.

I’m also glad I am here for the new Master Loot mega thread full of begging for its return!!

no.

replace raid loot with currency. everyone gets the same amount of loot for a kill. and special unique items ALWAYS drop.
none of this RNG dice rolling or Mob boss guilds getting pugs to carry them for free.

This is precisely why they got rid of it. You can thank people like you for that.

If they do this, I should be able to get the currency first and dish it out as I see fit
Because I’m the leader
