Massive stutters with DF client

Figured, I feel that I have finally really noticed it since I’m actually doing open world content. I sure hope jumping into dungeons and raid will at least alleviate it somewhat but what a drag! I really like dragonriding but that stutter and hitch is giving me PTSD from the Elden Ring launch.

I have had this Stutter , hitch issue ever since playing the new expansion. I have been playing wow a long time and never experienced this issue. It is Bothersome because it can happen at any time almost randomly , I think more people have it and are just ignoring the issue because for whatever reason it does not effect their gameplay. I cannot speculate but I can only speak for myself it is annoying. I have tried everything from Drivers to updating Bios , my system is top notch.

Bingo. People can play so they keep playing ignoring the issue b/c its not “gamebreaking”. Its just really really annoying…

I went over to a friends house and watched him play. He also had the stutter, but he choose to ignore it b/c his video card “was getting old”. He thought it was his hardware, even though it is not.

The game ran flawlessly before pre-patch. Obviously whatever changes they have made are straight up detrimental for game performance. Obviously something has to change…

Losing patience blizzard. Quickly.

Can we expect to get an update on this, some kind of communication from Blizzard that this is still high priority? It’s been over a month now… It’s frustrating to not be able to play with my guild because of the stuttering. =( I’ve tried everything brought up in this thread, and I’m starting to wonder if it’s actually on Blizzard’s end or mine because of the lack of communication.

It’s not you pre patch broke something !

This may be a silly question, but I thought I’d ask since I’m also experiencing lower fps and stutters myself–is it possible that Microsoft OneDrive (on Windows 11) would have any interaction with the client that would be contributing to this? Or is that unlikely? Deciding whether it’s worth uninstalling/disabling it.

My hardware is a bit old but before the patch i had no issue.
Now while flying or generally in the dragonfly world i can hear my disk working a lot, fps is dropping badly and sometimes appear the loading screen.

And if I try to land to a main city it’ll take a while to with a frozen screen before I can see my toon landed and able to move.

I tried most of things said in this thread but not fixed yet, and as I said even if my PC is not so powerful i had no problem before Dragonflight patch.

i made a separate post before i saw this thread. info is here. Why is my game lagging so randomly?

bottom line, my system is extremely powerful, (98th percentile passmark)
i shouldnt be having these issues, ive spoken with top tier tech support at my isp and they traced my traffic in real time found no packet loss. this is entirelly on wow’s end. or as an outside possibility Nvidia’s drivers.
Game froze for 8-10 secs up to a complete disconnect 15 times in 3 hours last night.

I can’t even play my monk. The abilities stutter so bad

It’s not that. I’ve tested several Windows 11 systems at work that I deleted all the bloat on the OS, bare minimum processes running, and it still stutters etc.

Thanks. Random suggestions for hardware profiles he doesn’t even know is becoming antagonistic. I’m not on an intel rig, but I have also tested with one.

Let me just say, all systems are operating normally on my Ryzen 9 3950X, within spec, and as far as I can tell through benchmarking, monitoring, and (yes the thread count is nominal running through at least 4 cores at 4.2 ghz) hyperthreading normally, it’s all systems go. Windows defender is a nonstarter because McAfee takes over, and defender isn’t even running; however, I did double check that app boost is off through my AV, and it is now. I ran another test, and the pop in is still happening.

I would like to add that before the pre-patch, asset load was done more slowly than it is now, so perhaps Blizzard should start there. It’s as if the streaming part of the object phase engine is out of sync with processor and GPU render state. That’s all I’m going to say about it. I’m dropping my DxDiag, monitoring info, etc. to the people who actually know wtf they’re doing.

I refuse to argue about this issue online any longer. I can clearly see more and more people coming back to the game after long hiatuses, and more are coming here to see if they aren’t alone in their woes. You aren’t. The asset streaming is a real issue, now more than ever. Keep submitting bug reports, and eventually this will get the traction it needs.

Occasional textures loading with broken graphics, textures like artifacting. Some occasional freezing and stuttering that makes the game disappear briefly and come back.

Running a 2080 super, r9-7950x. Latest display drivers Nvidia 526.98. Just started happening this week, does anyone need any troubleshooting files or more info or is this a known issue awaiting fix?

When this happened my game went invisible for a moment, then came back. Performance tab of task manager showed my GPU suddenly drop then go back to 100.

It reminds me of older errors when I got something along the lines of ‘driver has crashed and recovered’ for GPU. Same exactly symptoms.

Here is a dxdiag if it helps.

Thanks!

Just another follow-up here.

https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/83369860?

3dmark stress test 99.5% stability on 20 loops. No crashes, flickering, lag, stuttering.

In fact it doesn’t happen in any other game I play, either. Only in WoW. Not sure what is causing this but I hope it gets looked at/resolved.

Any update or feedback from a blue? Anyone?

I’m having the same issues, would love to hear something.

They’ve sold enough copies of Df to not prioritize this as much.

141 errors are related to corrupted graphics drivers. Try a clean install of of a fresh download of the Nvidia drivers.

Wish that was it. Tried that and several other things before even posting here. Rebooted into safe mode, display driver Uninstaller, rebooted, fresh install and clean install checked. No dice.

Have you tried different driver versions?
