Massive buffs to BM Hunter

#https://www.icy-veins.com/wow/beast-mastery-hunter-pve-dps-stat-priority

Haste increases your attack speed and Focus regeneration, reduces your Global Cooldown from 1.5 seconds to a minimum of 0.750 seconds, and reduces the cooldown on your Kill Command and Barbed Shot abilities.

The general stat priority for a Beast Mastery Hunter is:

  1. Critical Strike;
  2. Versatility;
  3. Haste;
  4. Mastery.

Mastery is the worst stat for Beast Mastery despite it increasing pet damage, because it does not buff the damage from external sources like trinkets, most Covenant Abilities, and so on.

In a practical situation, your stat weights and priority will always be changing as you get more gear, trinkets and so on. This is a general stat priority that gives you an idea of what stats are good to have on your gear.

8.1.
Barbed Shot

You should always end a Mythic+ mob pack with 0 charges of Barbed Shot remaining. This is partly to get the most out of its Bestial Wrath cooldown reduction so that you can have Bestial Wrath for the next pack. If you are using Stomp, you will also get more value out of the talent by maximizing the Barbed Shot casts that you do.

Keeping up 3 stacks of Frenzy is still a very high priority. However, it is worth keeping in mind that mob packs in Mythic+ usually last for only a short time. Additionally, the most important damage tends to be front-loaded, since most packs have mobs of varying health levels. This means that later on in a pack, there is less damage to be done. Because of this, and the reasons above, we recommend focusing on refreshing Frenzy as soon as there is less than 8 seconds remaining on Barbed Shot’s cooldown. This allows you to have 2-3 stacks much earlier in the pull than if you were to wait till the last moment to refresh. It still allows you to refresh to a higher stack count as long as you cast it as soon as the cooldown is gone. The basic point is to maximize the average amount of Frenzy stacks per pack.

My first 4 pce set 260 I level foray in to a timed M+ 16 Streets I parsed at 94% which is good for me A 65 yr old clicker with arthritis. 12.9 mill overall damage. we had our Main Raid tank {Bear} he did more damage than I did at 13.5

268 Fury Warrior with 2 pce did 20.63 overall. and Mage with 4Pce did 17.86 overall So looks like I got carried.

Getting a 3rd and 4pce. added somewhere around 380-90 dps overall to the 611 I gained from getting the original 2 pce. Nowt much in the scheme of things. as a single pce upgrade I got almost that from the Gifted The First Sigil Trinket {+ 181 dps}

Yeah he’s running 41% mastery which is affecting his frenzy stacks most likely. Not surprised.

Tried to give some tips on this forum and hope for players. Telling them they can do more dps by just simply playing better, but it fell on deaf ears.

See Ghorak’s post. Frenzy is very well understood across the BM community. The guide talks about it and it’s discussed in the Hunter discord. The importance of keeping Frenzy stacks when AoEing has been understood since Frenzy was a thing (i.e. Dire Frenzy talent in Legion). You really ought to go see what the theorycrafters are saying rather than speculating about it.

P.S. Ghorak I just noticed we have almost the same post count.

Parsing in Mplus on warcraft logs is only based on completion time of the key not your actual damage

This tier set is terrible, maybe a 400 dps increase on the normal one if we are lucky. I literally do the same damage before I had 4pc as I do now with 4pc from normal. This is an absolute joke.

Yea, known issue. Our tier is a bad joke.

It’s bonkers for Surv tho. 40K packs are pretty common.

I miraculously became a better player the instant I rerolled to Warlock. Weird!

  • More DPS/ilvl
  • More utility
  • More survivability
  • More loot-share options

All the “L2P” in the world isn’t going to fix the 20% DPS handicap BM currently suffers. Defend it if you want, but you can’t deny it.

If you like working much harder for much less reward, BM is a great spec for you!

Doubtful as warlocks don’t really require the management you can’t seem to work on as BM.

Your performance on BM is 100% you as you’re not even close to maximizing the spec.

And if I did maximize it I’d still be 20% behind the good specs. That’s what overall logs do
they aggregate spec performance by removing the player component via normalization (95%).

More work for less reward
seems like a terrible thing to pay $15mo for.

You would be doing decent damage instead of dog damage.

On my mythic skolex kill both bm hunters were in the top 5.

Stop worrying about logs when you need to do the basics.

Well, I hate to break this to you, but your raid team is terrible if two BM Hunters were in the top 5.

IS YOUR RAID STACKED WITH AFFY LOCKS, WW MONKS, AND ARCANE MAGES PERHAPS?

Because that’s the only other possible solution to why you dominated the meter.

It’s a CE guild. You of all people shouldn’t be calling anyone bad when you can’t even handle the basics of BM or even gear properly.

Nope.

Nope. BM just isn’t as bad as you think it is because you’re bad at bm.

Dude
I don’t if you are dense or what, but I’m literally posting logs of the best players on earth. It clearly shows there is a huge gap (17%) between BM and the top of the charts for that fight.

Those same best-of BM Hunters got beat there by FIFTEEN other specs, and absolutely DUMPSTERED by the top 5. Fire Mages hung +2400 DPS on BM.

EMBARASSING

BM isn’t as bad as I think, it’s as bad as ALL the available data shows it to be!

@Snozh https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/29#boss=2542&dataset=95&sample=1, so explain the data here Snozh.

The data showing that BM is the better ST spec for hunter?

Which is what I sad so not understanding your question.

You do realize that hunters arent a PI class which is a major factor for that right?

Linking data you cant comprehend doesnt prove what you think it does.

Dead. Last. Overall.

Should really focus on learning to play BM so you can stop parsing below average instead of whining about mythic logs.

Overall means absolutely nothing. Not to mention Hunters have specific utility like soaks on Rygelon

BMs main issue is their tier set is mediocre compared to Survival and MM.

BM in Mythic raiding right now. I think it’s safe to say BM is in a bad spot. These are numbers without Power Infusion.
