Mary Sues, Self Inserts and Creator's Pets

I mean, I never had issue with it maining Horde in Cataclysm or leveling my four or five Horde alts. I don’t think the issue bothers me like some people.

To which that should be the issue at question and not just the fact of working with them, which is the complaint I often see presented.

Agree, I was one of the people who never really thought the thrall center stuff was that bad in cata. this story is a anti war story, and I love the characters that are trying to break the cycle of hatred

and the horde players mostly want to keep it this way, rejecting characters like thrall and bane

Most if not all of them just wanted their lands back which was them denied. Also obviously genocidal war criminals and Sylvanas and Nathanos punished, also denied. They are even being antagonized with statements like “Sylvanas isn’t evil” which basically means that Sylvanas didn’t do anything wrong and Tyrande is being in the wrong here.

There was no reason for Ashenvale to be a Horde zone, nobody asked for it. The Night Warrior was mia in 8.2.5, but somehow she also wasn’t reclaiming her lands in the meantime. Well we could assume that it took her 3 patches to reclaim Darkshore only I guess, and then just kind of gave up on Ashenvale.

nothing was denied

not denied either, its literally coming

its not a horde zone

You know what they say about assuming…

It was. We had to wait until a random blizzcon question for darkshore and never got ashenvale.

No it’s obviously not. Sylvanas isn’t evil in the eyes of the writers and she won’t die according to them.

Last time we had an official statement on it it was.

What else was she doing in those 3 patches after 8.1? She only got darkshore back

oh is that who I think it is, just level a nelf to 120 already

What? I have plenty of 120s on the region I usually play on. Not sure what you’re talking about

Seems like you’re out of arguments though, so I guess my job here is done.

Complaining? More like laughing at it.

So do you laugh at yourself when you do it?

Yeah, I think people just like swinging at the low hanging fruit in this case. I’m guilty of it myself. But, truly, this is the key issue. Its not partying with the Alliance characters thats the problem, is that partying with them so much has come to simply mean none of our characters get the attention and time they so desperately need to repair the damage Blizz has done.

We Horde went from MoP (a fairly destructive round of the villain bat); to WoD (avoiding the consequences of the villain bat in another dimension); to Legion (being irrelevant); to BfA (an EXTREMELY destructive round of the villain bat) … to what appears to be another round of “avoiding the consequences of the villain bat in another dimension” in the upcoming Shadowlands.

There has been no time given to rebuild us. To the point where even the Faction Identity is severely damaged and several Racial Fantasies are left on death’s door (especially the Forsaken’s).

Sigh … I know you operate within the confines of All-Or-Nothing, but generally I haven’t seen many Horde players upset about what Baine and Thrall seem to be doing in SLs. What they seem to be upset about is that it was Baine and Thrall chosen to get the attention at all. Of all our dilapidated roster, they are two of those least in need of it, and have proven far too often to be within Blizz’s current writing comfort zone. They, along with Lor and Liadrin, are a bit of a safe-space for them.

Simply put, we needed that attention to be on other far more bare-bones characters. Like Mayla, Geya’rah, Jiro, etc… Or at least those still untested in their new leadership roles, and need some development. Like Rokhan, Gazlowe, and Voss.

I disagree, thrall needs to be reestablished as a horde character and baine, needs to actually do something

To talk about another thing OP, I think the story hurts from having token characters represent each race instead of an array of known characters. If Velen kicks the bucket, I’m not too sure who they can have to replace him on the roster. There’s Artificer Romuul but the dude really isn’t that well known. It felt like they were trying in WoD and more in Legion, but he’s still just…there. If they want Velen to sit back and enjoy his retirement, it would be nice if they started adding more to the Draenei cast.

But this is an example of what I see as an issue, there are obviously more examples of this. It’s just something Blizzard needs to work on. The community can handle more named characters, especially if they become recurring ones.

Actually, Jaina DID have regrets about the Purge of Dalaran. During the Alliance PC’s journey into the Blighted Lands, an image of Rhonin scolds Jaina for defiling the purpose and integrity of the Kirn Tor with her hatred and bias towards the Sunreavers. Jaina’s “inner child” tried to justify that the Sunreavers “lied to her”, but Jaina is clearly torn up over the ordeal.

You still have never answered when they said that. At the beginning of BfA when they were lying about everything or at the end where she said screw the horde and bounced. I suspect you haven’t answered because it would destroy your point.

This is funny. Guess they had to sneak that in just to shutup blood elf players.

How did we go from a discussion regarding Mary Sues in Warcraft to arguing about faction war stuff again and working with opposite faction characters?

You guys need help.

It would feel weird hardly seeing Jaina in an expansion that has her homeland in it in a major way.

It would be like never seeing Velen on Argus at the end of Legion.

Mate at this point you are starting to sound like a broken record. Is that the only thing you say these days?
