MM is currently benefiting from a bug that is landing them high up in the charts. It has a fix in the works.
I think people like yourself would not be so vocally trying to quell this by telling people we need to āshut up and get used to itā if it were not quite possible that the decision WILL be reversed at some point.
I think they are taking something from a much larger group to give it to a small but quite vocal group. We will just have to wait and see. The number of posts Iāve seen from people, and the responses, have been a very large number of people complaining, and a smaller group of people responding numerous times to tell them to shut up. Not very scientific I know, but if Iām right, this can and likely will be reversed. Weāll just have to wait and see.

im sure people will be able to tank just fine without a pet like every other spec, just use your cc and take advantage of your mastery just letting you hit stuff from a mile away. never leave home without your health pots either, they are immensely useful in all levels of content
They will have one singular pet an eagle. But i do agree the change is a bit drastic just because new players cant grasp the concept that when doing mythic + or raids as a mm should probably put the pet away to actually contribute. But you know cant lead a horse to water(guides). These days it seems so just gotta dumb it down for them.
Apparrently they are reworking some other spec entirely as well when it comes to druid so it would seem extreme dumbed down specs are going to be the future of wow.
The eagle is not going to be a pet. It will only be a special effect for a spell. Like casting a buff, but instead of sparkles or glowing lines an eagle will appear and drop poop on them or something. It wonāt be persistent and probably isnāt even tangible.
That would be a mistake if they didnt make it a consistent thing honestly. So marksman gets pets taken away because too many new players cry there dps sucks when using pets so blizz has to force them to understand the spec basically.
itās not new players complaining, itās people in dungeons/m+ complaining because you are expected to take lone wolf since it is a 5% damage increase. this means you will have to summon your pet, cast blood lust, and then spend a few seconds standing around because you lose that 5% from lone wolf. now theyāre really cementing lone wolf as its identity since itās what most people use besides people who spend more time yapping in trade chat than playing

This isnāt true. People who solo use their pet all the time. I play mostly delves, on a bunch of characters, not just my hunter. And I use the pet on my MM hunter all the time. This is taking something AWAY from people doing small groups and solo content, and giving it to the high end raid/M+ crowd. All so that things can be a little more convenient for them.

I think you may have a good point here, after all they listen to PVP players all the time and statistics Iāve seen seem to show that thatās about 10% or less of the player base. So, vocal minorities do seem to get heardā¦likely ignored, but heard.
There are many areas where CC and mobility are not possible. Elites and elite rares are often immune to CC entirely, and hit hard enough that you will die unless you significantly outgear the content.
Unless they want to double MM hunter to rival that of tanksā¦
Pretty sure my pet does around 5% of my damage at least when I summon it. So if I lose around 5% personal DPS, but gain 5% from my petā¦ how much DPS have I lost?

I do use my pet. Itās part of the character(s) I made.
Just because itās more optimal to play without a pet doesnāt mean everyone takes Lone Wolf. Iām not pushing hard content on my hunter, Iām playing casually with friends or playing solo. The mentality of there being only one way to play MM is exhausting and just a player creativity killer.

Raid and M+ people get a lot more attention because they are the proverbial ācheap dateā. If you have a group of 10-20 people that you can keep busy for several months running the same piece of content over and over ad nausium they are a preferred customer.

Valid. Iāve already come to the conclusion that those for or against the removal of MM hunter pets cannot and will not be able to agree, and no amount of shouting or hand wringing is changing anyoneās mind anytime soon. The points of view are just inherently different. Optimal gameplay vs what Iād call āhaving funā but Iām sure someone has some other clever label theyād care to sardonically add.
