Y’all put way too much value into stuff like this.
This is not Baldur’s Gate. You don’t get to play every class exactly how you want to play it in order to fit the fantasy you had in your own head. When your opinion is derived from your experience in the most casual content where correct gear and talents are not necessary anyway, your opinion is less valuable than the people actually completing the content that specs are built and tuned around. Sorry if that offends you, but the sooner you come to terms with it, the sooner you can quit wasting yours and everyone else’s time spamming these forums about the stupid pet.
They claimed they would never tell others how to play, despite multiple comments where they do exactly that. Blatant hypocrisy should be noted.
Can’t do that in BG either. A lot of the decisions within the original duology left you with less options than in the TTRPG it was based off of. BG3 is no different.
If the content doesn’t matter, why does it exist at all? Surely the game would be better if we deleted the open world, the levelling process, all quests, and reduced it to just raids, Mythic+ dungeons (no normal or heroic versions), and nothing else. Even previous content would then be deleted, only existing in the LFG queue when they are part of the current mythic season or timewalking.
Popping in every few hundred replies on these threads to remind yall that it’s not my time or space that you should be worried about. This much spam is likely preventing actual feedback on bugs, talents, interactions, how the spec actually plays from being seen.
Responding to your comment, doesn’t mean it is aimed at you. I have been careful to say “you people”.
The one thing all of you have in common is attacking someone when their opinion conflicts with yours. While I, and others like me are fine with the change, all of a sudden we are (insert name here) simply because we do not share some common ground about compromise.
Hopefully, this illustration demonstrates it is not just you.
And they are. However some of the bugs (such as tensile bowstring) acutely impact the way that the spec plays while bugged. So when discussing value and flow of various talents and builds, you have to cover the bug as well.
Blizzard is aware of y’all’s feedback on the pet by now. I’m certain of it. There’s just so much more to cover. That’s the frustrating part.
Agreed. There is more to the spec than the pet. Would be nice if all the kinks were ironed out (or most of them) by the time this goes live in 4 weeks.
No, almost everything you post on these forums in response to anyone is pretty much always this informal fallacy.
I.e. your response to my comment about casual content. “Yeah so this should all just be deleted right” is an invitation to move from the motte to the Bailey. The Bailey obviously being a much more outrageous and controversial position than what was actually said (the motte).
I don’t mind if others play differently than me. I don’t mind that some MM players want their pet instead of the eagle.
Now, I also don’t mind this is changing. I also don’t mind the changes and enjoy them on the PTR. I also don’t mind finally playing a Hunter spec that will no longer require me to spec into Lone Wolf, but will actually BE a Lone Wolf with some active abilities becoming passive.
I’ve played MM on my main hunter for years, I love being able to choose what pet I want and its been part of the “hunter” class fantasy that I enjoy, stripping that choice away from me is not, in my opinion, favorable. I shouldn’t have to change to beast mastery so I can choose to use one of my own pets. I will also say the fact that mm hasn’t, for me, been a “support” role, I don’t care about dps, for me, its more about game play and enjoying the mm hunter class spec with a pet of my choice. I feel if their going to overhaul mm, then just change mm spec name to lone wolf spec and add some of the current mm talents to bm so us mm/pet lovers can, at the very least, choose the more enjoyable class fantasy playstyle that we have enjoyed with mm with our own pets.
