Marksman on the PTR - AMAZING CHANGE

It paths through the sky. Even underground, where there is no sky.

Cool. I dig it. Errr path it? I might check it out on the PTR later.

There are numerous reasons why having a pet is a nuisance. It complicates so many different forms of utility for MM while being an unimportant facet of its damage output. Seriously.

So then don’t use a pet…

Do people forget what having a choice means???

For group content. But it’s a massive boost for solo content. Removing it will make solo stuff much more annoying to do.

Every single poster in this thread complaining against the OP has dreadful combat logs/buys carries and has no clue what they are talking about. They just want to complain. No one cares about utility options when doing open world content.

They have 2 other specs but for some reason they keep talking about compromise as if it’s not already there.

So that their DPS tanks? There are already choices, you’re just being ignorant and want to complain. Pick another spec…

Continues to miss the point on an absolutely cosmic scale. There’s more to this game than group content, which is only used by a fraction of subscribers.

Also, it’s cute how the person hiding behind a Mage character keeps armory stalking Hunters to tell them how bad they are for not playing the game the “right” way.

Now you’re making stuff up. Show me the numbers? You can’t. I’m not hiding anything. It’s silly that you even suggest that.

You are complaining just to complain. You already have options. Again, Bye Felicia.

Your arguement from faux elitisim doesn’t count for anything. But hey, keep armory stalking like a creep!

Didn’t you mute me? I hope you’re not planning me on charging rent for living in your head.

It’s not “armory stalking”. It’s warcraftlogs btw, not the armory. Again, your knowledge is showing. It’s calling people on their nonsense.

Anyways, you and your ilk are never going to stop whining. Time to move on.

Po-tay-to, po-tah-to.
You’re still being creepy.

You said it best:

Don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

So, going by dataforazeroth, only 33% have completed Nerub-ar Palace achievement, which combines LFR and Normal. Only 14% have completed Heroic:Nerub-ar Palace achievement. And the mythic version is sub 1%. So that’s not even a third doing raids. There is a big uptick in dungeons, with 61% having timed at least one +15 key. So I guess I was wrong, at least dungeons are picking up the slack. We should get rid of raids though, free up some design space for more interesting content.

Calling people on their nonsense with publicly available facts is not “creepy”. You just want to play the victim. You people are so typical. Later.

I wouldn’t mind if they added some way of taunting mobs with the eagle, or offered some other means of taunting mobs off yourself as an MM Hunter. I don’t know what this would entail or look like, but it would probably be welcome.

Yes it is. I don’t do a full background search on people I disagree with, I just address their points.

But we both know, you’ll be back.

I had not touched Beast Master in ages. When I respec’ed into it it still had my BfA action bars, lol.

But I decided to play it a bit just to see how it’s nowadays. The last time I played it in any meaningful capacity was in Legion, but the “Zoo keeper” feel of having two beasts and summoning more beasts just didn’t appeal to me. I tried playing it a bit both in PTR and Live, trying to recreate the “classic hunter” feeling. So, I followed a few rules:

  • Invest in Shots, so I took things like Cobra Sense, Barbed Scales, Serpentine Rhythm, Barrage, Scent of Blood,
  • Avoid any kind of beast summoning
  • Dark Ranger hero talents.

My impressions:

  • 2 pets do feel a bit crowded and unpleasing, but in PTR the 1-pet options felt a lot more like old school hunter
  • With the right talents you can be way more active, feeling like you are in charge and not just assisting your pet.
  • It’s very functional and fun, all things considered.
  • The biggest letdown for BM isn’t rotation, it’s visuals.
    • Cobra Shot feels repetitive, it would be cool if when you have max stacks of Serpentine Rythm its button flared up and its visuals changed into something cooler.
    • Barbed Shot is huge for the rotation, but visually it’s very uninteresting, it feels like you are shooting a needle. Improving its visual both so the shot itself feels impressive and the frenzy it causes on the pet was noticeable would make the overall feel of the spec much better. Also, in PTR there’s a talent that gives it 30% chance to explode on hit, but the explosion is barely visible. That could be improved as well.

I think overall the spec played way better than I first expected, and it felt better in PTR despite its biggest change there being the single-pet talent option and the Barbed Shot explosion.

Anything is possible with enough time and money but I’d argue that there are better choices for a new spec than making an iteration of MM that uses a Pet just to appease open world RP’ers.

There is no good argument for why MM hunters should not have the choice to either have a pet or not. You don’t have one, nobody does. The only thing we keep hearing that even attempts one is that it’s “too complicated boo hoo”. There is no real substance or explanation behind it. There is literally zero reason you cannot have the changes you want while leaving the pet option intact for those who want it.

All of these posts are trolling and should be flagged as so, period.

I like how we’ve all spent 500 responses proving why none of us are successful game developers.

Gotta love the forums
