Marksman on the PTR - AMAZING CHANGE

Birds of prey eat meat though. You pay their loyalty with food as a reward for the cooperation.

Pets like canines have evolved over thousands of years of domestication to appreciate attention along with food as a reward response to wanting to make you happy.

Birds of prey are more basic in what they want. They help Because they know a successful kill is food. They are paid with food. Its a pretty good analogy.

My Companion as SV is my battle buddy!

Pay =/= Reward

Rewards come in all shapes and sizes, pay does not. Pay is to be expected. Rewards are not.

Always have. Its the best part of SV. True pet combat together coordinating and taking down the prey. Definitely the most fun of the three for me at least. Throwing a grenade in their face is jist a bonus lol

Well original pets would eventually leave you or turn on and kill you for not paying the food tax xD

They expected food or you became food before they left you. Honestly I miss that about hunters most.

Funny enough, Hunters look at predators the same way. But if a hunter chooses a pet to befriend them, itā€™s up to them if they want to side or not. Less they become food.

If a bond is struck, they hunt together.

If notā€¦ well, one of them is going to die.

Iā€™m dipping out. Iā€™m getting brain rot logic from your posts.

Nice a passive insult jab when Iā€™ve not treated you as anything other then to discuss. Eh. W/e.

Iā€™d play my hunter again if no pet was involved. Pet pathing is atrocious.

Every single person who flagged this post should have the ability to do so removed. There is nothing wrong with this post. These forums are getting more and more ridiculous. We need a down vote/dislike button.

This is an absolutely positive change. A lot of people wonā€™t play a hunter due to pet pathing but want to play another ranged class. Other Hunter specs have a pet, there is no issue here. Iā€™m stoked. I like hunter mogs but dealing with pets is a huge pain.

Oh, but if weā€™re going to go by vanilla, Iā€™ve got the manual right here in my hands:

The hunter is a unique class in World of Warcraft because it is primarily a ranged attacker. Even though other classes can learn to use ranged weapons, none of them is as proficient in their deadly use as the hunter. To support the hunterā€™s ranged attacks, this class has two main advantages; a loyal pet and a wide variety of movement-restricting spells.

Then further down the page:

Hunter Pets

Hunter pets are a key component of the hunter class. After the hunter gains some experience, he can learn to tame the wild beasts of Azeroth. Using the beast taming spell, the hunter can select a beast in the wild and turn it into a loyal companion. The hunterā€™s pet can then attack the hunterā€™s target and keep it occupied while the hunter engages in ranged attacks.

Sounds great to me, we should get right on that. Optional of course.

If pet pathing is an issue, it seems like they should fix that instead. Other specs still have to deal with pet pathing after all.

Itā€™s always been an issue and it will never not be an issue. No other spec has their damage ruined by pet pathing like hunters. Not even close. However, who cares.

There is nothing wrong with having one spec that does not have a pet. More people will try playing a hunter now.

Thereā€™s nothing wrong with making it optional. The problem is people donā€™t want optional. They want the pet gone completely because it annoys people who want to keep their pets.

Thereā€™s 3 options. Just play another spec.

Getting rid of water elementals was one of the best things they ever did for frost mages.

Nah. Thereā€™s nothing wrong with optional. There is something wrong with people who refuse any attempt at compromise because all they seemingly want to do is to annoy people who want to keep their pets. No argument. No logic. Just annoying.

There already is a compromise. THERE ARE THREE SPECS. Sounds like some people just want to complain.

The OP is also a gaslighting troll who likes to pick on others with no regard to the feedback where removing MM pets is a bad thing.

The nature of this forum goes both ways and shows no mercy.

Thatā€™s not a compromise. Thatā€™s giving up. A compromise would be making the pet completely optional for MM Hunters. Which is something you are against for some bizarre reason.

All hunter specs have pets, even MM.

The difference is the MM pet is not currently customizable or optional.

Does it still rely on pathing or is the eagle a ranged auto attacker? I assumed it was the latter. Which would be awesome.
