Just gana point out dark ranger or whatever spec is a mm and beast mastery spec there for blightcaller is in fact a beastmaster in the lore
Your correct it is a spirit beast skill so mm cant use it
gameplay has rarely or possibly never been a 1:1 recreation of lore, anyway. I donât know of any hunters in lore who have 50 pets in a stable. or that those pets would be magically available at every stable master in every reality they visit. we used to only have THREE stable slots. we used to not be able to tame as many things as we can now. (we used to all use the exact same pet if we wanted to be competitive. that doesnât matter to me, personally, as I primarily solo, but specific pets within a family used to be be better than the rest.) there are things BM lost that I wish they hadnât. if I want those things back, I need to switch specs. I have weighed, personally, which things I value most in the class, and chosen BM every time.
I get wanting to continue using the same spec, I do, but things change, and you have to adapt to it. if you, personally, weigh what is most important to you in the specs and come up with what MM has to offer being the most valuable to you, personally, then you will choose that spec. we canât make that decision for you, but it is a decision you have to make. I know it sucks losing some part of the spec you like. as I said, there are things BM has lost that I wish they hadnât. I remember there being quite the uproar when all of the traps stopped being there for every spec. you will have to make that decision, unpleasant as it may be.
Youre missing the point. BM is not an archery spec. Maybe that answer is easier for you to understand. MM is archery with a pet. BM is telling the pet to kill stuff while pressing 3 buttons. Dont tell people what to play. If they wanted to, they already would be doing so.
If devs wanted MM to use pets, they would still be doing so
Im sure your 3 weeks of playing the spec mean something. You never had to play with a pet in your time here. You lose nothing but those of us who have played longer are losing something. Which I know you dont care anything about.
For 20 years they have. But devs dont care what players want, it seems. Just ask the classes they keep gutting. But lets add more cars and robots into the game
For ten they have been pushing the opposite. Devs care what players want. I want the pet gone. I am a player.
And the pet is not a requirement. They do not have to take it away from us for you to not use it⊠GD I am tired of the same damn arguments over and over and freaking over. I feel like I am explaining it to a class of kindergardeners 1 student at a time.
Not bored enough to read another mm pet post, but bored enough to make it clear how much i care
Yes they do. The devs do not want to support development of a split paradigm. You are just parroting the same thing over and over when it has no validity. jUsT gIvE uS bOtH is not viable. It has been a drain on their resources and the specâs efficiency for ten years and that time is at an end.
Never said it was. I donât fancy sitting around going back and forth about NPCs vs players since I was just noting a simple link between one NPC and the class, so I wonât.
With all due respect, I donât have to do anything. I have to eat food and sleep and drink fluids. If I want, I can stop paying for WoW and do the opposite of adapting. I have chosen to voice my opinions and feedback instead and for right now thatâs what Iâll do. I havenât decided what I am going to do after the patch and in the future.
Edit to add: for what itâs worth, I appreciate your commiseration, but I feel strongly about this and thatâs my personal choice.
Not at this time.
And they will be should this rework goes live.
Both player choice and petless MM is dead in the proposed changes
The little spell effect isnât going to hurt anybody but the most sensitive whiners, who also should not be catered to. Would I prefer no eagle? Sure, but it wonât bother me anymore than murder of crows. Hunters need some kind of effect that isnât just âmagicâ to deliver the abilities the pet used to.
It isnât just a spell effect.
While both superficially appear the same, the implementation and effect of both are significantly different. The Spotting Eagle does not function in the same way as AMoC.
It is barely on the screen lmao. Doesnât get controlled canât be killed. it is nothing like existing pets
My mm hunter only uses a pet if thereâs a ton of mobs or one thatâs hard to kill and need the distance. Other than that, Iâm solo. Gone are the days of keeping pets at âbest friendâ and feeding them, etc.
Is it unreasonable to want to still be able to use a pet while being MM? I spose I donât really have a dog in this race because I play bm or surv when I do play hunter but I can totally see why MM hunters would still want to have their pet around regardless of whether its optimal dps wise or not.
Doesnât make it less of a pet.
Yes, it does.
Intimidation, Harrierâs Cry, Masterâs Call, Air Superiority, all command your pet to act. Each auto shot has a chance to passively call it to to apply a debuff. The intent is to expand these effects over time.
The Spotting Eagle still exists as a separate NPC within the game, rather than just a graphic like AMoC.
Correct. It is a non-traditional pet, but it is still a pet.
