Mal'ganis 9.1

Soooooo that fancy devourer reminds me of a collector from mass effect for some reason, must be the creature’s profile.

Why do they only look like the NPC’s from Oribos? Why? What is the connection here?

I mean, could it be that the Devourers were some kind of accident?

I think they’re what Attendants turn into if starved of Anima, maybe.

Like the “withered”/“wretched” of the Attendants.

The Devourer Anima™ is the same color blue as the “First Ones Spirit Gate” that you rez at when you die in the zones after all. So there’s a connection between these guys and the First Ones.

Edit: alternatively it could be the first ones made them as a preliminary defense of the Shadowlands, the same way your skin and intestinal tract is full of bacteria and fungus that protects against other pathogens.

Also forgot to mention: the Shadowlands Dreadlords on ptr are classified as DEMONS at the moment

Not sure if temporary or what it means but yeah

That’s uncanny.

If you look at the feet and hands, they look like they were once Troll ish…

The uncanny resemblance to Artificers and Trolls has me believe that the original inhabitants of Korthia/Oribos were humanoid and were replaced with constructs and the Devourers are just the husks of the original Shadowlands races, who have been starved of anima.

Don’t the Collectors in Mass Effect work through other Races who do business deals? Sounds like we now know why Brokers are obsessed with Transactions… They are probably the Collectors’ agents in WoW.

Also the Collectors in Mass Effect serve the Reapers.

I have zero knowledge of Mass Effect and had planned on researching it later today now that the similarity has been pointed out to me.

Also, they both (these Collector Devourers and the Mass Effect Collectors) resemble “Alien” from the alien franchise a bit, which were created as a plague/mass extinction mechanism by the Progenitors of the Alien-universe.

Notice the Devourers started entering the realms more because of the draught, and in Revendreth because of excess Anima-runoff due to excessive hoarding of anima.

As in, if Revendreth hordes too much anima, it triggers the devourers to come consume it.

But again, the anima they use (their rifts, etc) use the same color as the First Ones objects.

Idk something is up

Reapers are similar to Xel’naga. More specifically they are similar to Amon’s Xel’naga… Reapers are the masters of the Collectors having them under their complete control.

If anything the Collectors of WoW serve the First Ones directly!

Or… dark first one :V

Still hoping the Dreadlords are their own demon faction, playing both Sargeras and the Jailer(and in turn, Denathrius) for their own demonic games.
Having everything try to link back to this expansion seems shortsighted when they can be showing the far reach of this cosmic war, that everyone is playing everyone.

Incidentally the Collectors(as well as the Alien Queen of the Alien Franchise) resemble Zerg-Protoss Hybrids…

I don’t know, the sense I got was that the Devourers were a familiar danger to the Shadowlands, always poking at the periphery of the realms to get at all the tasty anima within, and the drought just caused more of them to successfully invade because when there wasn’t a drought, the realms’ local defenders could readily stomp down any incursions before they get out of hand. There’s not really a sense that the Devourers are some mysterious new enemy never seen before by the Wild Hunt, Maldraxxi, Court of Harvesters or Ascended; rather, they’re treated by NPC’s more like a known hazard that’s recently gotten out of control.

Remember, Denathrius was hoarding a ton of anima in his “basement,” but Revendreth on the whole was still suffering from the same drought as everywhere else, meaning they too were underpowered and understaffed, preventing them from cracking down on intruding Devourer as quickly as they might otherwise have done.

Mal’Ganis wasn’t involved with her betrothal to Deathwing like at all. It was Deathwing who was the mastermind behind that con so he could have legit claim to Alterac. Thereby he could have a better chance of staying in the inner circles of the Alliance. So no idea why you claim that he was.

Well Mal’ganis did a terrible job then. Mal’ganis’ role was to simply trick Arthas into picking up Frostmourne. The Dreadlords were tasked with making sure Ner’zhul stayed on task, not Arthas. Which was why Ner’zhul “gave permission” to allow Arthas to ‘kill’ Mal’ganis. Tichondrius suspected that Mal’ganis dying from ‘tripping down some stairs’ was a lie. So he personally made sure that Arthas stayed on task, which was to resurrect Kel’thuzad to he could summon Archimonde. Ner’zhul knew he was acting sus so he continued to play along. Having Mal’ganis killed was a bit of a gamble.
