It will never be fast enough for some people. The “Give me everything now” mindset of gaming.
Yes, criticising the use of a specific and already high-demand currency for a solution that doesn’t address the overarching issue is
/eyeroll
Pat attention, Blizz: These are what actual solutions look like.
And relegating core acquisition to repeated visions instead would still increase their time-played metrics. The issue is that echos are already used for essential purchases that are in competition with one another, not that we have to play more. Try to keep up.
Echoes as a currency is a catch up system that runs in parallel to the original systems for obtaining essences, corruptions, and cloak resistance. You can still obtain those things with their original systems. We might see some retuning of prices or acquisition of currency, but if you don’t have enough echoes you do actually have other avenues of pursuing those upgrades for your character.
That too.
This was a way to get more people participating in visions since they seem dead set in eeking MAUs by any means necessary (i.e. why you still get echoes from emmisaries).
That’s right. Even though I already earned breath of the dying, I’m going to be doing it again on this character because I don’t want to lose out on the corruption I need and have to wait an entire 30 days for it to come back around. It’d be nice to spend echos on that essence seeing as though, again, I’ve already earned it the long way, but unfortunately echos are needed for other equally important things.
Great catch-up mechanic.
Ok, I see your call and raise you POE’s new league is out.
Sounds like you’ve got a choice to make between some pretty good options. You could always buy BotD next week, too, and still not have to grind out all the rep.
Its pretty good. Like I said earlier, I wouldn’t rule out seeing some tweaks to prices and currency acquisition, but its a pretty solid.
Can you see any other colors through those rose-tinted glasses?
I’d ask to borrow some angst-o-vision goggles from some of my fellow forum goers but it would be a shame to part them from their security blankets.
I love it when people try to make up idioms on the spot and just sound like goofballs XD
“A comfort object, transitional object, or security blanket is an item used to provide psychological comfort, especially in unusual or unique situations, or at bedtime for children. Among toddlers, comfort objects may take the form of a blanket, a stuffed animal, or a favorite toy, and may be referred to by nicknames.”
Every time Blizzard adds a fairly generous catch-up mechanic, the crybabies crawl out of the woodwork to claim that it’s not enough.
Fairly generous if you have all the essences and corruptions you want, maybe. The thing about players who are trying to catch up is, they don’t have those things yet.
I’m not going to be grateful for a tacked on half measure meant to solve a glaring issue that they created. Either fix the thing or don’t, ya know?
Hardly anyone does arenas. That’s because people hate them.
Not an option.
So basically if you’re already an arena god on your main you can infinitely farm rated arenas and get carried to a high rating yourself. We’re talking about new and returning players who aren’t gods of arenas and mythic+ or who don’t have friends who will carry them through a great many dungeons or arenas.
Your claim applies to hardly anyone.
You sure love quoting yourself.
Wait so we can still only purchase 2 cores max weekly? Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t that the main problem
And I would waste the time retyping all of that again because…?
It is 100% an option. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it not an option. Also, low CR is a meme where you can win by just blowing your load because a majority of the playerbase isn’t good and will never punish you for it.
Also, your theoretical “new and returning player” isn’t going to want to spend echoes on corruption anyway. It’s a massive waste to spend echoes on anything below 460.
That is not even an alt you are talking about. Anybody who is that into arenas is already pulling strings to get their friends to help their alts.
It is definitely NOT an option for anyone who has never done PvP before. There’s a lot of those people.
They’ll be spending their time grinding essences on their main, so they’ll never get anywhere near where they’d need to get a cloak for an alt and buy essences etc.
