So your average alt will be able to get 3-4 upgrades per week vs 2 per week. Sounds like a win to me… What did you expect, to be able to just get up to the resistance cap in one week?
Yes. That is what most players expect. To invalid months of character progression in a weekend.
Some people really think that’s what’s being asked despite everything to the contrary.
Story of BFA:
-
Blizzard introduces some obviously flawed system that requires grinding and is often time-gated and alt-unfriendly.
-
When a significant portion of players begin feeling the negative effects of said flawed system, the playerbase calls for a fix.
-
Blizzard, after weeks if not months of complaining from players, implements their idea of a fix which inevitably involves more grinding and only partially addresses the problem.
-
Players note the obvious issues with the “fix” and ask why Blizzard couldn’t do the more obvious fix.
-
Other players chime in that it’s impossible to make WoW players happy and that they want everything handed to them.
-
Rinse and repeat.
As many others have said, what the heck are you talking about. We’ve been asking for actual alt catch up. Not this joke. Moving goalposts
A guy did the math in the arena forums. To actually catch up a new alt to full resist and corruptions it would take 1400 arena games or 314 m+ to get enough echos. Does that even sound like catch up to you?
I get people want to catch up, but at this point why even bother? I’m guessing the pre-patch is only a few months out if they keep to their schedule.
I think there’s a lot of other things that people could be doing right now and focusing on that corruption cap will just drive people nuts. But that might just be me.
So is this where we ignore all of the other large amounts of echos from other content?
Like 750 per vision?
Or how if it takes 2-3 weeks you are also getting 4-6 cores from the normal methods?
It’s a “catchup” after all, not a “max cloak immediately” system.
Kinda like “catchup” gear isn’t “get amazing gear immediately” gear.
Blizzard gives a catch up and people scream for more easy!! You all wont be happy till you get mythic raid gear in the mail and auto upgrading.
314 Mythic levels would be about 21 +15s. If each took about half an hour, that would be 10 hours of play time.
Not to mention the echoes you would get from your chest, assaults, raid boss kills, other stuff you do in game.
This is no where near a grind.
Blizzard introduces a glaring issue, patches in a half-measure to ‘fix’ it, and gets praised. What else is new?
This is supposed to be a catch-up mechanic which is hardly the case if the currency competes with rank 3 essences that we’ve already earned and corruption. That is the problem, not that echos aren’t infinitely farmable (they technically are).
Who would have been harmed if players were allowed to farm visions for cores up to the current maximum? It’d still be gated by coalescing essence acquisition.
I swear you ‘be grateful for what you get’ crowd are something else. Can I assume you’re also content with the month-long corruption vendor cycle?

Because playing one class all expansion long is hella boring?

If you’re doing full clears, you’re not doing full clears for T least a bit. Do you get more when you do masks? Genuine question as I don’t know.
Or how if it takes 2-3 weeks you are also getting 4-6 cores from the normal methods?
As a pvper you’re getting 1. Guess what? That gap gap grows every day so thats not catching up that’s staying 100% even. If anything the echo for catch up is going to keep getting bigger.

Lol additionally PvP is one of the fastest ways to get echos. So why look at other content? 1400 arena games man. Cacth up

Sorry my bad I shoulda specified. 314 m15s.
How many in Epic Bg wins
i’d rather drink bleach than cowtow to a corporation and farm some fiat currency for weeks that I can’t even buy weed with.
Jesus christ. Okay that’s a little extra.
Blizzard, to the people that have alts that still need to level their cloaks, can you at least increase your malefic cores gained per week to 3, so those players have a chance to reach the cap in a more reasonable time frame.?
I would just allow malefic cores to drop from visions indefinitely until catch up.
This essentially makes it a trade for coalescing vision currency rather than echoes currency.
Alternatively/additionally - allow malefic cores to also drop even before cloak is 15 (even if it is only usable at 15). This way all the vision runs between 1-15 aren’t essentially useless with regards to resistance catch-up.
Still reusing echoes for this again is a bad idea.

This is an ideal alternative to what we got. There’s no reason they couldn’t have just made cores purchasable with Coalescing Visions instead of Echoes in the first place though.
Can people stop complaining? ffs, always the same. It’s a game and a business, so obviously Blizzard want us to keep playing. They removed the time gate bs, so now we have to grind a lot, what did you expect?
‘shut up and give them your money!’
You’re a good egg
Its more like the lazy whinyiest gross demand a change, blizz compromises and gives you something that helps, you whine it’s not enough, and then everyone laughs at you.
