Those Progenitor Essentia things sell well too. I mean, not as well as they USED to, but still like 9kish a pop (on Moon Guard at least). They’re a pain to gather though if the RNG hates you. It hates me. I barely see em. 
I was actually doing that at the beginning of SL just to “make things go away”. I thought some AH guy running TSM would come in and buy all that stuff up just to vendor it and pocket the spread. No dice. In the olden days when I started, that stuff would be bought out instantly. Even greens and blues I was posting at 1s would come back to my mailbox 24 hours later…
Got me to thinking about how busy things really are these days in WoW and how many subs there really are…

Do your command tables
Do your callings
Claim your paragon rep packages
Do your ZM/Korthia weeklies
Move your herbalism to a separate character, use an herbalism/miner to gather and get ore and flowers to sell at the same time
One note on making money with mining, check which essences are the most expensive on your server. These come from prospecting covenant zone specific ores. Mine in the zone your server needs the most essences from, night fae ore might only be 10g each while sin ore might be 50g each, because there’s a huge shortage of the sin ore essence. Every legendary needs a lot of a specific 2 essences, and they are rare drops from prospecting, so they can go crazy in price. It shifts around some too, some days one is up and the next day is down, because your server’s gatherers might all be on this chase. You can really exploit this, make an essence and ore shopping list in auctionator to have a peek before a gathering session. Make all the money.

Mind you, I don’t actually RP. I just play on a RP server… so I don’t have a horse in that race.
Well… Indirectly… Though I have heard if you DO NOT get the mount[1] you can sell the lure GOOP on the AH and then go get another one. Then sell that and keep doing it. (Like maybe every week or something?) Not sure.
[1] As in, you go get the lure, but don’t use it. You sell it and then go get another one.

But can’t you sell the lure GOOP on the AH instead of using it? And if you do that you can go back to Vash and get a second lure at some point.
I have not done this… I just remember reading it on the WoW forums! So it must be true!
Edit - the Lure is BoP, the goop can be sold on the AH from what I see on the web.
If you’re asking If you can create strange goops, not turn them into lures and sell them, and for instance 4 goops later you decide to create your life, then yes that should be true. I just know some people think you get a freebie lure if you create one every week or whatever. That’s absolutely false, one strange goop = one lure . It doesn’t grant you access to a magic fairy dust hat the naga has where lures are given to you once a week like some speculation I have heard.
You never actually sell the lure, you sell the goop. The base item.
Are there any tricks or pre-reqs for goop or do you just fish and pray to rngesus?

Or if you’d like you can go into the dunes area of Zereth Mortis and attempt to get the BoE weapon which gives the same amount of gold as a wow token, last I checked, maybe a little more. But that’s a lot more praying to RNGesus as opposed to the fishing method, you have options, and if you go for the option that may take a little more time. You will receive more gold. The BoE is called Varruth’s Guillotine.
We are work from home right now, so while I’m supposed to be listening to the Agile Standup meeting in Teams, I’m over on the other monitor doing AH or ZM stuff. None of my co-workers know about this… So it’s a secret. (Only one person has ever asked what my Teams avatar represents…[1])
