Again, this is you interpreting what ‘Need’ means in the context.
It would seem that Bliz disagree with you tho, considering that a player is able to need on something that’s lower ilvl than what they have equipped (unless they have an item with the same name in bags or bank that has the same or higher ilvl)
You do you; there’s only so much Blizzard can do to stop people being bumheads.
Blizzard doesn’t want transmog to override legitimate gear need, but if you want to override that by leveling another toon and running LFR there is nothing they can do to stop you. There is no reasonable means to tell whether your alt wants the gear or not or I’m sure they’d stop that too. Some problems don’t have answers.
For every x players like you, there are y players who didn’t go through the trouble of leveling alts to roll on transmog lfr gear, so the net result is more players who are running the content for gear. The fact that you are doing less dps or healing is neither here nor there; it’s not like LFR is remotely hard from a numbers standpoint. The only thing that kills LFR groups are mechanics like raz.
Yes, if you ignore the other sources where blizzard explicitly states what need and greed rolls mean (again check the sources in the 2nd link). In that context, you would be right, it would be my interpretation.
There isn’t a lot of point arguing against such mental gymnastics. Arguing that transmog isn’t explicitly unwanted against legitimate gear upgrades when Blizzard stated as much requires wilfull ignorance; nobody stating as such is doing so legitimately.
You can disagree with Blizzard’s stance, but pretending it isn’t the case is nonsensical.
Except that is exactly what Blizzard designed it to allow. Thus it is allowed and intended by Blizzard that it can be needed to sell and DE as well as just an upgrade.
Lol i have 3 low lvl alts this time around just because blizzard implemented this system. It hardly takes any time to lvl these days. If i thought I had a fair shot at the gear I probably wouldnt have bothered
Whats really interesting to me is blizz already did this back, think sometime during wod, and ended up reverting it because of the same reasons people are complaining now. Leave it to blizzard to make mistakes theyve already made before.
If Blizzard made another way to get these colorations, I would be more than happy to not make alts. I’m up to two alts now, just to make sure I get additional chances at weapons.
The easiest way to fix this to make item give their own tmog and any lower versions. Its silly and toxic of say me who has a full set of 415+ tier to take normal versions off people who need it just because i like the look.
ive wondered about this cause ive needed on things that i just wanted as transmog (main spec not secondary spec gear) …ive also given up things if someone did actually need it as gear and asked for it. but to me i still feel like its a need and that the roll makes it fair? eh i like the idea of having the transmog token at the end of runs though.
If you’re fully geared/gemmed from the vault couldn’t you just start doing LFR to get vault mogs?
Also this wouldn’t be an issue if Blizzard listened to my suggestion and we automatically unlocked approaches as we cleared raid wings, similar to how we unlock Elite PvP mogs by progressing rating.
I’m done discussing this topic with people who are trying to argue in bad faith. You know this isn’t true, yet you continue to claim it is with nothing to offer but the argument “yes it is.” Final thoughts: “no it isn’t.”
Yep, and to get the transmog Blizzard has been clear that people who need the gear for upgrades get it first.
I see what you did there, you quoted me out of context to try and make it seem like these 2 separate thoughts were the same. Clever.
It is legit The worst system and only makes me hate the community even more if that was somehow possible.
I’m convinced most these people are sociopaths and don’t understand why they cant just punch people’s feelings into a calculator and come up with the right answer.
The difference between somebody rolling need on gear that they already have so that they can disenchant it and losing a role to an algorithm that has bad luck protection mathematically may be similar. but I’m not a abacus I am a human and I have human emotions and it feels about a billion times worse.
Yes it is, these are the same problems we had before and they removed the system. However putting it back in shows intent. The Devs knew of the problems for years, and still put it back in, thus they intend it this way.
They just added to the original problem with more gear. The base issue has always been a issue with LFR, thats why they removed group loop in the first place for it.
