Make sure gdkps are bannable moving forward

Sounds like you’re playing on the streamer server. That was your first mistake.

Yeah streamers kinda do ruin servers…in some ways.

They used to ban bots, goldsellers, and buyers. They stopped doing it many years ago as far as I can tell. I assume it’s to maxmize profits over the quality of their product.

At this point, they’ve forced people to buy gold to afford things. It’s been what? A week?

Please ban GDKP!! PLEASE!!

Also BAN GOLD BUYERS!! Instant perma ban first offense.

Thats a lie lil bro. Goodluck forming your own raids when 90% of the server wont join unless theyre able to profit off of bought gold.

Why not just ban bots? Seems like a way better solution

Bots are a symptom. GDKPs are the disease.

There will always be bots, gdkps are not the reason they’re around.

Loooooool.

What else are players buying gold for at level 25?

SoD has removed all doubt GDKPs and gold buying aren’t inherently linked. They clearly are, and botting seems to be worse than ever.

Literally every version/expansion of wow has been infested with bots. Even the ones where gdkps don’t exist

Because Bots exist to fill the demand for gold, which is created by GDKP’s being a valid gold sink in classic. Without GDKP’s there wouldn’t be such a demand for gold at all. They would still exist, but it wouldn’t be as profitable as it is now.

GDKP can work as a system, but the current framework just doesn’t support such a style of playing and does more harm than good. It just feed whales and gold buyers and is a way to clean wash gold bought on 3rd party website. RMT at its peak basically. Not to mention those discord selling GDKP Ranks to be able to participate.

See above.

GDKPs add to it, but they aren’t the sole reason botting is profitable. Blizzard makes systems like the engineering requirement that can cost 80-120g per server to unlock a rune. Adjusting the systems in game to discourage botting would further than these stupid ban waves.

Banning bots is a way tedious way of dealing with it - creating a world where bots are just not profitable is a better way, as bots will then vanish because there are simply no customers for the product.

Botting will always be profitable, try again.

Easy solution would be to put a transaction detection script in.
Pick a random amount of gold(say 1000g) and anything at that amount or more in a single transaction flags that account for a human investigation to see exactly what happened.

They have logs of everything.
If some dude is just being given like 2000g for no reason(there’s no logs of GDKP bids or anything) it’d be pretty easy to know that guy just bought 2000g.

Prove it otherwise - just sounds like someone who runs a GDKP Community. No Gold Sink no need for Gold simple as that.

They can’t or are not willing to combat bots effectively, but they can make it less tempting to bot. Sorry to say but GDKP had 2 times the chance to show it isn’t involved in RMT and it failed badly at it in ERA and in Wrath.

Tbh, the only way to get rid of GDKP is to make content harder. But then that would drive away the casual player base.
